Bob's is in Suburban Plaza on East Henrietta Road, just south of the Jefferson Road/390 interchange. It's a little hard to find back in the corner of the plaza, but well worth the visit.
Though the dining room is recently remodeled, the staff are the best of the old-fashioned "treat you like family" kind of people. The waitresses are all eager to please, and it's easy to become good friends if you become a regular. Because it's independently operated, they are more than happy to entertain special requests by customers if they can.
The menu is standard diner fare, and you can get breakfast all day. The food is good: great home fries, good steak sandwiches (surprising for a diner), gyros pitas. Fish fry on Wednesday and Friday that is as good as I've eaten anywhere. Daily blackboard specials.
And the prices are really low. Breakfast is less than $5.00. Most sandwiches also very inexpensive: tuna salad is $3.50 with chips and pickles. You can get a full turkey dinner (real turkey) for about $8.00. Like I said, comfort food.
If you're looking for gourmet, you might want to go elsewhere. But if you're looking for great homestyle cooking with waitresses who can crack a joke, share a genuine smile, and made you feel truly welcome, this is the place to go.
