“Comfort food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Homey and tasty. Everything from Thanksgiving dinner served any night, to Liver and onions with mashed potato. Italian specialties, too.

“Sooooo good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

This small, local restaurant is simply wonderful. Prompt, friendly, attentive service. My veal parmesan was prepared perfectly and cooked to perfection. I loved my meal! Would definitely return. Best restaurant meal I have had in Rochester.

“ONE OF THE BEST FOR OVER 40 YEARS”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

My wife and I have been coming here since Mike and Tony Di Lella opened in 1967. This is one of those places that have remained true to it's roots. Good Food Good service in a quiet pleseant atmosphere. This tradition continues today under the careful eye of Ron and Junita Medina with son Corey. I watched Ron grow up here as a busboy now owner. We were just here last night the food was excellent as was the service. I recommend that if you have not been here get here.

“Very Good for 40+ Years”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

An excellent restaurant, good food, great variety, an icon for over 40+ years. You won't be disappointed. Recommend reservations as it is usually crowded with regulars.

“Sorry to say that I found this place just average.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

We arrived with all expectations of having a good meal. True, the menu looks extensive, and certainly the service and warm welcome were a delight. However, we found the food to be just too average. The salad greens were typical "white" iceberg with a touch of color in the added-in croutons, etc. The main dishes were swimming in greasy sauces which honestly tasted as though they came from envelopes of dehydrated ingredients with perhaps with a touch of butter to finish them off? Of course we'll give Charley's another try one day, but these meals were not at the level we expected. So sorry.
