The Inn on Broadway is a charming, comfortable small hotel in the theatre district of downtown Rochester. We booked through an on-line service at the lowest rate offered, so did not expect to get a great room. Fortunately, we were mistaken. Our room was large, freshly and plushly decorated in a turn-of-the-century style appropriate to the age of the inn, but at the same time offered a modern bathroom with a huge steam shower. Our dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent, if somewhat pricy. Service from everyone was cheerful and prompt. The complimentary breakfast was more imaginative that the usual continental spread, with lots of fresh fruit and miniature quiches in addition to cereal and danish. Only complaint? The water-saving toilet was absurdly noisy; it sounded like a loaded bookcase falling over. Using it at night unfailingly woke the room's other occupant.

The neighborhood around the Inn has several nightclubs and coffee houses with live jazz. As it was raining and cold, we did not do much exploring, but the Inn appears to be within an easy walk of several interesting art and nightlife areas.

Stayed one night at Inn on Broadway, Deluxe Room. Hotel is very nice, small boutique style. Room had fireplace, small kitchen, bath and shower. Service was excellent, including valet parking. Rooms were very quiet, except for heater, which was loud when it clicked on. Overall, very nice.

The Inn on Broadway is a historic property that's been converted into a small boutique hotel. Rooms are quite comfortable, favoring antiques and good fabrics, and bathrooms are bright and attractive. The location in downtown Rochester is hard to fault, if you want to be in town, although there are no picturesque views from where the Inn is situated. Two drawbacks: The breakfast buffet is skimpy and disappointing, and the two entrances to the hotel involve numerous steps, which means that rolling baggage has to be lifted by oneself into the lobby, since there are no outside attendants. In general, service in this hotel is not especially conspicuous, so travelers who are not pretty much self-sufficient may not find it to be a very supportive environment.

I went to a wedding reception at the Inn on Broadway and thought that the place was excellent. The staff was extremely accommodating, the rooms were luxurious (ours was very cozy with a fireplace) and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for something a little different.

“Awesome new restaurant”

Inn On Broadway

The Inn On Broadway has renovated the entire restaurant area. There is no longer a Tavern 26, it is now an upscale steak house, Tournadoes, that is to die for. The food is prepared to perfection and the service is top shelf. There is not a better steakhouse in Rochester. They have a separate bar area that includes a pianist on the weekends. The rooms have beautiful, comfortable beds and bathrooms and most include fire places. I stayed there for my anniversary and it was the best. I highly recommend it.
