“Always a good deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Not fancy, tight parking ( I park outside the market on public street as it is easier, and there are many pedestrian gate entrances along the perimeter), but lots of goods to choose from. The fresh local garlic from Scottsville ---none of that chinese imported stuff! Fresh organic vegetables from the DeMeyer organic farm. Fresh eggs, baked breads, NY apples, and so much more! I enjoy going early before it gets too crowded and having a breakfast sandwich at Scotts. No one does it better than they do. Then browse the vendor stalls and pick my goods. So much to choose from. Do watch out for the difference between vendors who sell local/regionally grown foods to those that take it from boxes of stuff from wholesalers. I try to solicit the local farmers first for what is in season. Don't forget the various buildings with the coffee shop, cheese shop, bakery, and more. Truly an authentic experience, and good for those on a budget who want healthy fruits and veggies for a reasonable price.

“The people, the sounds, the colors, and the value make this a trip to remember!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

We stumbled upon the Rochester Public Market after a visit to Rohrbach's Brewery. What an adventure! From Juan's flavorful empanadas to the assortments of every fresh edible, this was a circus for our eyes and ears. Cheeses, jellies, flowers, and candles were just some of the surprises among the colorful fruits and vegetables! http://www.cityofrochester.gov/publicmarket/

“The place to be ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

We had visited the Market many years ago when we would visit our son living here. When we "retired" here about 15 years ago, it became the place to find my husband on Saturday am. Yes, it's crowded, not antiseptically clean, and the parking is a hassle but so worth the effort. It's a Real farmers market with wonderfully diverse customer base; you see all nationalities, all strata of income, all ages. There are discussions of "upgrading" the physical plant which are probably justified. We just hope they don't eliminate that wonderful feel of the market that makes you just want to go and see what's out there today.

“The place to go early Saturday morning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This place is NOT a secret. It gets packed with people by 9:30 am or before. The produce and wares for sale every Saturday are worth the trip if you can go at least once a month. Bargains galore and a great carnival vibe. Go...you'll love it!!!

“Fan of the Market!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

The Rochester Public Market is a hidden gem and I would highly recommend making a trip! I've been going to the RPM Saturday morning for years. We always make a point to stop at Juan and Maria's for the breakfast empanadas...they are outstanding and if you like garlic don't forget to put on some Garlic Hot Sauce (not that spicy, but rather tasty).

On Saturdays you will find a great selection of seasonal produce, flowers, local wineries, bakeries, and much more. Just don't forget to bring your reusable bags and if you plan to do a lot of purchasing a cart or wagon.

I've been bringing my kids along with me since they were just 1 yr old...they are 7 now and bounce out of bed Saturday looking forward to the trip!
