“Small but yummy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2011

This is a very small place but worth a stop. They have a variety of fresh pastries made on site each day, and serve breakfast & lunch. We had their Saturday Pork special which was very tender and served over tasty rice, and their Cuban Sandwich. The Cuban was absolutely delicious, so we stopped by again when we were in the neighborhood. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are quite large. Their menu is on-line at http://www.georgiesbakeryandcafe.com

There are only a handful of tables in the restaurant, but if it is a nice day you could do it as takeout and go to nearby Highland Park and have a picnic.

“Pork to Die For!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

The bakery sells various Latin pastries and has wonderful crusty "Georgie Bread". The cafe sells subs and daily specials for lunch, and fish frys on Friday evening. But the real treats are the Cuban sandwiches any time, and the Roast Pork with rice and pigeon peas at mid-day on Saturday. Go early before they sell out! Much of the business it take-out, but they have about 6 tables if you wish to dine in. Service is informal and friendly.
