I have been to many major league ball parks and I actually prefer Frontier Field! The smaller size doesn't mean it's a smaller experience. The food is excellent and every seat is a good seat. One of our favorite summer outings every year!
We had gotten tickets to go to "Batman" night in June with Julie Newman aka Catwoman. We were able to hold on to the tickets and exchange them for August which she came back for....huge win..... We got to the park and parked which is basically 6.00 dollars to the right lot or 4.00 to the left (different lot). We exchanged our tickets and then got something to eat. There a large variety of places to get food from..Red Osier, hot dogs, philly steak etc. The food is kind of pricey however this is probably where the profit comes in. Also, the lines tend to get a little long on a very busy night. There a two small picnic type areas inside to eat at which is nice if you don't want to eat in your seats or if you have kids. As far as the game its great, lots of fun activities going on during the game and fun things going on. The field is immaculate and it's a great way to spend a summer night. We also stayed for the fireworks which were pretty good. This is a great way to enjoy a nice summer evening
outdoors and lots of fun for everyone. We will definitely go back a few more times.
The Rochester minor-league baseball stadium has been moved a number of times and this is its latest incarnation. A nice venue, actually, clean and quite comfortable. The games, the crowds, the foods, all add to the experience. Worth a visit at least once. Really, go ahead!
As Twins fans, we have been to all of their minor league stadiums (except Chattanooga since they only recently left the RockCats). The big disappointment here is there is not a single sign or souvenir that we could find (and I even asked ushers and cashiers) that indicated that this team is the AAA team for the Twins. The food is fine, they actually had Indian food and naan the night we were there (it was India's Independence Day) was yummy and I was glad to get some white hot dogs before leaving upstate NY (although the bun was a little stale). The ballpark experience was good, except for the nagging issue of the absence of a "This is Twins Territory" experience. I get that a AAA team wants to stand on their own reputation, but this is the final proving ground for the guys that go on to the Twin Cities, and it's a shame that is not acknowledged.
Well, in fact, the Blue Jays Triple A affiliate the Buffalo Bisons lost
this particular night ,,. and the next to the Red Birds.
Josh Thole caught which put things in perspective if you watched the
following Dickie start in Anaheim. Kawasaki entertained all as that
night's Taco Man.
The stadium is wonderful with the usual food offerings
but someone recommended the Berk's hotdog which
I ordered loaded with chili, onions, cheese and home fries.
Following a few Buffalo Bisons games each year at different
away stadiums is a great family journey let alone a few
baseball fans enjoying a road trip.
A nice home town stadium for a city like Rochester. Clean and well run. Great for baseball and usable for other events
