“Great hotel! Beautiful, clean, spacious and not a cookie cutter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

Attached to the LI Aquarium, is why we stayed. Who'd think to stay in Riverhead, but after researching Sesame Place, Mystic, or Dutch Wonderland, all of which would be great in the Spring or summer, the aquarium, and hotel seemed like the perfect weekend family get away with our toddler. He is already excited we can walk to the aquarium, look outside our room at the boats, mom and dad are excited they have gated parking, the hotel is new, has free hot breakfast, a gym, bar, cafe takeout food, free use of wifi, iPhone chargers, pool noodles and floaties for kids arms, we can walk to dinner, etc. and Riverhead is really undergoing a transformation. FYI, booking through the hotel's 800 number was much cheaper than any website, they also gave automatic AAA 10% discount. Enjoy your stay!

We were in the area on business, and we stayed at this Hyatt Place for 3 nights. The staff are very nice, the hotel is very clean, well maintained, etc. My only complaint is that when booking on the Hyatt site, I searched for "pet friendly" properties (which this is), but no where in the booking process did it address the cost. There is a flat rate of $75 for a pet - not too bad for 3 nights, but what a whopper if you just stay one. Apparently there's another $100 fee if you stay over a week. AFTER staying there, I did in fact find all this information on the hotel's website (not easy to find however), and again, it's NOT brought to your attention when booking. Breakfast was included and was above average for a continental-type breakfast. For all you non-pet people, the room we stayed in had NO indication there had ever been a pet there, so they must use the money they collect to do a pretty thorough cleaning. They have both indoor and outdoor pools, and our room had a very nice view out over the marina. Easy to walk to several area restaurants.

Room Tip: One side faces the marina, which is nice. Some of the rooms on that side have a partially blocked vi...

Not sure I would want to stay here for a weeks holiday , very new empty modern hotel . Does everything well but lacks character .

Only saving grace is the location and the excellent value for money .

Staff very helpful but it's difficult to create an atmosphere in a building of this design .

Dear Lagardefreinet,

Thank you for sharing your experience at our hotel with the tripadvisor community. As we get closer to the warmer weather we offer many different amenities that you can enjoy right here at our location. The Sea Side Grill will be opening with our outdoor pool and we have a multitude of aquatic rentals to enjoy on the Peconic River. We hope to host you in our hotel in the near future.

Stayed for a single night in April . The hotel looks brand new , though very quiet and a bit soulless.

Staff very accommodating but the place has little or no character . Incredibly well located for the town centre , rooms are generous in size and very well appointed with own lounge area .

Good value . Great for families . Two swimming pools .

I loved this hotel, right on main st. in downtown Riverhead. I am very picky about cleanliness and this hotel was spotless. The entrance lounge was very inviting and they had an area for two computers which was off the main lounge area. The staff were wonderful. I received a Triple AAA discount too. The room we stayed in had two queen beds and a large comfy sofa. The room was very new and clean and it was nice and big. We had so much room to move around. The bathroom was great. Large walk-in shower and not a speck of black mold! None....love that!! Blow dryer and iron were available as well as a coffee machine. The breakfast was very good and a big selection of breads, muffins, cereal, fruit, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt and several juices. You can even get Starbucks here! I would have given this hotel a 5 but we had sour milk the first day and each day, the pancakes were hard and the eggs were not good. If this could change they would get an excellent. I will definitely recommend and be back again when I'm in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 5th floor. I would try and get a non street side room. A view of the water in the...

My husband and I have stayed twice in the past year once for a birthday and just this past weekend for our anniversary. I can not say enough great things about this hotel. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. The entire place is very well maintained and the rooms are comfortable and very clean. We ate at two local restaurants Jerry and the Mermaid and Cliff's Elbow room both were great. I am sure that the summer must be awsome would love to try it. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back again and again.

For a family occasion four of us we stayed for three nights March 30, 31, April 1. VERY well managed nice experience. It's a nice scene, even not in season, and walking to good food is part of the pleasure. We'll be back.
