We did a mini stay-cation last weekend. We packed up our three grandchildren and headed down the street for an overnight stay at the Comfort Inn. What a great family oriented hotel! First, let me say that I didn't meet a single staff person who didn't look like they really enjoyed their job at the hotel. From the front desk to breakfast servers to life guards, everyone brought their A-game to the job. Their world-class attitude made our stay remarkable! We primarily wanted a spot where the kids could have a great time. They loved the water park and the game arcade. Both are designed with younger families in mind, but older kids, too, would love the mini-golf and the water slides. Our room was ready early so we took advantage of all the activities for the kids several times during our 24-hour stay. For adults, one can always spend an hour at their gym, Eclipse, for either a workout or one of the many daily fitness classes. The gym is clean, well-equipped, and boasts a super friendly and helpful staff. It's also the spot to induldge youself in a sauna or a steam bath after your workout. And, of course, there's the pub for either a bite to eat or a freshly crafted pint of beer. The Plattsburgh Brewing Company creates a diverse selection of seasonal to more traditional ales. Give their Octoberfest a try for a beer with a nice toasted-nut aftertaste. Delicious! Although Perkins restaurant is located on the property, we took advange of the breakfast included with our room. I've never experienced a better complimentary breakfast than the one offered here. From bacon, sausage, and eggs to make-your-own waffles, no one will walk away hungry! I don't know how other Comfort Inns stack to to this one, but Plattsburgh's is one where you won't regret the decision to have stayed there. We look forward to our next vacation right here in town.
