“Excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012

Stayed for two nights with a friend. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice large desk and WiFi worked great. Did not try the coffee offered in the morning in the lobby. Each person I spoke with at the desk was helpful and friendly. Above all, this place was QUIET. I've stayed in nearby Newburgh - constant overhead flight traffic from Stewart Airport. Lots of hot water in the morning. There are numerous restaurants nearby, and just 25 minutes from Newburgh, 9 minutes (I made it in 6) from Red Mills Road. Cannot understand the negative reviews - no issues at all. This is not a luxury hotel, but is certainly cleaner and nicer than many nearby "chain" hotels. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked a room with a King Size bed in advance. When we got there, the bed did not have any blankets, only sheets. This is January. The young gentleman at the desk was very unhelpful. He said they didn't have any other blankets, he couldn't call anyone to get them or find out where they were. He said we had a choice of not having blankets or moving to a room with a Queen bed. The room he gave us was in the back in a dank wing that had a dehumidifer in the hall. When I opened the drapes there was an earth moving machine in front of the picture window that had been used to dig something up. I marched to the desk and said that room was unacceptable. The 3rd room he gave us was about 2 percent better. Obviously he is still working there since the previous negative comments about him. At the Harvest Inn you are treated like it's the only hotel for miles around. Which it is! The next day I complained to a lovely young woman at the desk. I handed in a complaint form. No reply to date. I must also say that i disagree with a prior reviewer calling the Cup and Saucer Diner across the street" a greasy spoon". The C & S is a lovely, immaculately clean classic diner. They people working there are very nice and greet you warmly and courteously.

Ok, not trying to dog the 'hotel' but it's just not that great. I'm not sure what most of the reviewers were thinking when they wrote their positive reviews. Here's a few pros for those of you on the fence: Only 3 miles to Wallkill Bethel. Cup & Saucer (greasy spoon) diner across the street. Subway (deli), Dunkin Donuts, Hannafords (supermarket), McDonalds, Antonias (Italian), Chinese restaurant and few other eateries within reasonable walking distance during summer months. Outdoor pool. Free coffee and juice in the morning. Adequate and convenient parking. 'Gift' shop (and I hesitate to list this as a pro) is JW oriented with rather outrageous prices that you could get much cheaper buying from Madzay or Stoops direct...(just my opinion) I know some of you will drop $65 on a leather satchel just because it came from Harvest Inn. Cons: Thin walls, strange smells, understaffed, no room service, front desk does not operate 24/7, no elevator, dated... I could go on but there's your dose of reality incase you really want to know. Still hesitant? Come on you've slept in a tent before :-)

Not a bad place to stay even though it is a throwback to the motels I stayed in when I was a kid with my family back in the 70's. I was surprised of all the amenities within walking distance ( grocery store, restaurants, bank etc.).
Nice little town with friendly people except the young guy at the front desk. Nice strong coffee in the morning.

this place was so down home feeling. I love the lobby took many pictures of the wall mural and the statue of the cor-porter ( travelling Jehovah's Wittness). Loved the idea of an outdoor pool, did go for a swim in the evening just to unwind, was to cool for a morning se\wim. The beds were soft and comfortable. We saved money on our meals by going to the grocery store that was up the street, we had a take out meal of roasted chicken and veggies. The gift shop was awesome my travelling companions and I spent alot of time and purchased plent of things. I for sure will come back. the place was so up lifting

If you are visiting the Wallkill printery, this is a great place to stay. Not a far drive to Patterson, either. Accommodations are simple, but all you need is a bed. It is clean (although some areas are starting to show some wear).

While not the Ritrz, this is the perfect location for visiting The Farm. The room is basic, but nicely decorated with queen anne style furniture. Bed wasn't too hard. Very clean and right across the street is a diner. Great food and good prices. Would stay again.
