This year was my second visit for the Garlic Festival. Last year, it was scorchingly hot and it was less attended. This year, the weather was more comfortable and the musical performers were more main stream, playing 70s and 80s hits.
This place has a gorgeous vista overlooking Seneca Lake. So if nothing else, go there and enjoy the pleasant view. The wine that I sampled at the festival was just so-so and too expensive by the glass. There was also a locally squeezed fruit juice booth by the free tasting and by the bottle.
You may not enjoy a garlic festival if you do not want to actually "munch" some to taste the different varieties. But I have a ball and like to patronize the growers of Western New York. I usually go home with plenty to stink up the car. But once you have smashed a fresh clove, you will never go back to that dried out stuff from some foreign country at the supermarket. Various garlics, garlic food items, mustards and maple syrup were available for sale direct from farms and vendors.
I also ate some food at the festival; there were lines and the available seating was at a premium. Bringing a lawn or camp chair is recommended! Porta Potties available, well-directed grassy parking.

So glad you were able to make it to both the 20th and 21st Annual Glorious Garlic Festival! We look forward to "stinking" up the place the first weekend of August every year, and love to hear that our guests enjoy the variety of vendors that come for the weekend. Please know that if you'd rather purchase a bottle next year instead of a glass of wine, we have special "doggy wine bags" that allow you to take home unfinished bottles- something we consider a great cost saving option, as 3 glasses of wine are typically the same cost as a bottle (but a bottle has at least 4 glasses in it)! Hope to see you next year for the 22nd!
