Owner description: Situated high on Torrey Ridge overlooking one of the deepest parts of Seneca Lake is Fox Run - with fifty-five acres of vineyards producing a remarkable range of fine wines. Behind the winery a vast expanse of vinifera vineyards produce award-winning Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. Plantings of Lemberger, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Gewurztraminer position Fox Run's future on the cutting edge of the Finger Lakes' wine industry. We welcome you to join us in the tasting room, open year round from 10-6 Monday through Saturday and 11-6 on Sundays. (Closed New Years Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.) And don't forget to mark your calendars for the Annual Glorious Garlic Festival, the first full weekend of August every year!

“Port, more Port and Tawny Port”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Ok, if you can't find anything else here to your liking, the Port is sure to please. The Tawny rivals the best of Australia. They have many good wines, but I bet when you leave it will be the Port you remember.

We'll be sure to share your kind words with Peter, our winemaker. Port production is something that he specializes in (he learned in Australia!), and we are happy that you agree it's one of Fox Run's specialties!

“A Good Quick Stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

My wife and I found Fox Run Vineyards on Tripadvisor. We were just stopping by the Finger Lakes region on a road trip from Ohio to Massachusetts. We had two kids in the car with us, so we didn't partake fully in either a tour or a full tasting.

All this said, the wines we tasted were excellent. They ask you to pick a sweet or dry "flight" through their different wines. The person pouring our glasses let us pick the dry flight and a few choice wines off of the sweet flight. So they are very accommodating in that respect.

We ended up buying 3 different kinds of wines and some various other items (local almond butter
and honey).

My daughter and I walked the grounds and saw the young grapes growing on the vines. They have a little garden with strawberries, various kinds of lettuce, tomatoes, and a mulberry tree in back. We recommend this vineyard for locals and passersby.

It's always great to hear that a family has stopped and enjoyed the winery- we encourage families with kids to go on tour, because you never know who the future winemakers will be, or where their inspiration might come from! Hopefully next time you'll be able to enjoy the tour, and maybe lunch in the café. Thanks for the recommendation!

“2nd yr. To visit the Garlic Festival”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Last year my husband and I just happened to see that Fox Run Winery had a garlic festival. We enjoyed so much we returned this year. If you love garlic and anything made with it; stop in while in the Finger Lake area.

We are certainly a little biased, but we believe everyone should have their calendars marked for the first weekend in August every year- no one should miss out on the Garlic Festival! Thanks for your repeat visits, and stay tuned for the 22nd Annual Glorious Garlic Festival next year!

We enjoyed our tour of the vineyard and wine making facility. What a beautiful drive along the west side of Seneca Lake. Very friendly staff, the grounds were immaculate.

“Smart staff; good wines & value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

We spent an afternoon doing tastings in the Seneca Lake area. This vineyard and one other stood out. First, you get a great view of the lake. The tasting room/cafe were immaculate, with an upscale appearance. We had eaten before this stop, but from checking their bread & cheese counter, it looked like we should have waited to eat here.
The tasting allowed for a lot of choice and gave us the ability to make good purchases. (Arctic Fox and the Chardonnay Reserve 2009)
The staff were exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, willing to answer questions, attending quickly to everyone at the counter. And, from their appearances, YOUNG! It was a pleasure seeing these young people obviously taking pride in their work.
We took information with us to have additional purchases shipped to us in the future.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! Hopefully next time you'll have a bite to eat in the café. We are extremely fortunate to have a staff that not only loves to learn about wine- they also love to talk about it and share their knowledge! We look forward to shipping your wine in the future, and to your next visit to the winery!
