“Beautiful walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

The 6.5 mile trail has easy access from several places and provides a scenic walk along a beautiful stream. We started in Penn Yann and covered about 2 miles. I only wish that I had my fly fishing stuff with me as it looked perfect to wade. The trail is well maintained and easy to hike or ride.

“Birds and a few rusting relics of the industrial age”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

We've walked along this for years. Nice to have smooth railway trail with a stream alongside it's entire length. The old water-powered mills that used to line it are mostly crumbled away, but it's actually been nice to see the area reverting year by year back to a natural state. There's still one brick smokestack, which used to have a huge belt wheel and the remains of a hulking steam boiler -- still various large bits of what look like old-time turbines, etc. Old iron bow-bridge covered with vines, filled-in brick pits in the woods (small and not dangerous) that were part of a 19thc. paper mill (I've been told) Good place for birders, although we ran into a posse of deer hunters on our last walk. In good weather, young Amish couples picnic there and you can admire their buggies in the parking area.

“Nature Walk”

This trail is nicely maintained and follows the outlet between Seneca Lake and Keuka Lake. It is about 7 miles long with a couple of nice waterfalls. Bike rental is available at start in Penn Yan.

“Nice Trail”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Good walking/biking trail along the river. It's about 7 miles so kind of long for a walk especially because it's a single trail and you have to do an "out and back". I wish I had brought my bike, its easy off road and fairly level. Nice to do before wine tasting.

“Waterfall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We only saw part of the trail -- one of the waterfalls, which was very nice. The trail section where we walked was nice and flat and easy to walk.
