“Une belle maison et bon temps!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

On a beautiful weekend in late May, we spent two delightful nights in the Ridley Room of La Belle Vie. After viewing the intriguing website of the B & B and reading their glowing reviews on Tripadvisor, we selected La Belle Vie for our first Finger Lakes visit. We were thoroughly pleased with our entire experience, including the attentiveness of the hosts, the period decor (the Eastlake Dining Room is a knockout!), the exceptional breakfast and baked goods, as well as the spacious and comfortable accommodations. A special feature of the Ridley Room is its own private balcony. Both Laurel and Llewellyn are perfectly suited for their roles in operating this outstanding B & B and enjoy interacting with their guests. We would highly recommend La Belle Vie to anyone who seeks "the beautiful life".

My wife and I stayed in the F.L. region and also at a B&B for the first time in mid-May. We had the good fortune to stay at La Belle Vie and meet our gracious hostess and host, Laurel and Llewellyn. They provided us with great recommendations for activities, restaurants and even directions to various events and wineries.

The 19th century home is appointed with period furnishings that are comfortable and inviting, yet updated to include features like free wi-fi. An outdoor porch/patio made for liesure evenings to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. Another plus is their ample off street parking.

The rooms are tasefully decorated while the bathrooms have all been updated and renovated including unlimited hot water. Waking up to the aroma of fresh made baked goods made us anxious to enjoy the amazing breakfasts (including fresh flowers) and all at a most reasonable cost.

There is hardly anything we can add that has not already been expressed by other visitors. It is without a doubt, Laurel and Llewelly's attention to detail, interest in their guests and genuine love for what they do that makes La Belle Vie an outstanding success. We look forward to going back.

Room Tip: The Ridley room has a large bathroom and a private balcony with chairs.

My husband and I visit the Fingerlakes often, but this was our first stay at La Belle Vie. We shared the bathroom with our friends and occupied the East & Makinstosh rooms. From the minture we arrived, Lauren & Llewellyn were extremely welcoming and hospitable. The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast every morning was excellent and the location between Keuka and Seneca lakes was spectacular! Will be coming back again for sure.

We spent 2 nights at the La Belle Vie in January and we had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived Lauren & Llewellyn we hospitable and welcoming introducing us to the area, suggesting excellent restaurants, wineries, and provided us with a map for a walking tour of Penn Yan.

The rooms were comfortable and inviting, but best yet were the delicious breakfasts and intriguing conversations. Our only suggestion would be an addition of a dog to their family and the La Belle Vie (I think Llewellyn might agree ;).

Wonderful weekend – we will be back!

Very cute & historic bed & breakfast. Best we stayed in yet. Hosts Laurel & Llewellyn were very friendly and the breakfasts were delicious, especially the ginger scones. Rooms were spacious and nicely updated. Would recommend highly.

I recently took a mini-spring break in the finger lakes region. I stayed 2 nights, mid-week. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. My review is based on the following:

1) The owners, Laurel & Llewellyn, are super friendly and helpful
2) Amazing breakfasts
3) Large, comfortable room
4) Close, easy access to a variety of sites, wineries, lakes, etc
5) A couple of blocks from the center of town (food and drug stores are ~4 blocks away)
5) Free Wi-Fi

The owners were extreeeemely friendly. I was traveling solo and they made me feel like one of their family. The breakfasts (homemade scones and muffins, fruit and a main dish) where huge and delicious. They were willing to accommodate any dietary issues (I had none but they asked).

The B&B has three main rooms. I stayed in the Woodland room, which is at the back of the house. It was roomy, quiet and comfortable. The Mackintosh room is in the front of the house, with a view to the road. The Ridley room is in the middle and is very large with a nice balcony for reading or enjoying the evening outside. They have off-street parking.

Booking: I reserved via their website.

Room Tip: The Woodland and Mackintosh rooms are the same price. However if you are concerned about street noi...

I recently went to LBV with my fiancee and cousins for a long weekend. We knew right away we'd enjoy ourselves, and we weren't let down. Our hosts were wonderful and took the time to get to know us and help recommend places to visit. The food was great, and Laurel and Llewellyn were also very accommodating with the meals. The B-n-B is an immaculately renovated and designed 19th century home and the attention to detail was impressive. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable experience.
