I had some guests from Marths's Vineyard and Manhattan in town and thought it would be fun to go out one evening. Not to leave anything to chance, my husband and I and a friend went to the restaurant a week before. Everything was good, we were one of two tables in the restaurant. Therefore it never occurred to call ahead for a reservation as the place is usually pretty empty. As it turned out it was Taco Night and busy. When we arrived, it was obvious that the waitress and hostess were not happy with us, as they stomped around putting our tables together. We were a party of 9 / 5 adults and 4 children 6, 5, 4 and 3 years old. It took about 10 minutes to take our drink order in which time the restaurant had filled up. The waitresss very deliberately
took everyone's order of all the tables around us. One of the tables was a party of 8 or so.
Generally, when one enters a restaurant, especially when you have small children, every effort is
made to get you in and out as quickly as possible. Not so in this case. As if it wasn't bad
enough, the owner was right there ignoring us I guess because we had not made reservations. The waitress brough 2 of the nine drinks, then stopped to take someone else's order. Everyone was served before us, even though we had arrived before 4 tables.
When the food did come, it was very good, but it took about an hour to get it. The children were
amazingly well behaved. No one ever came to apologize, even though we did finally complain.
I was so embarrassed that I had brought my friends to this 'cute little restaurant.' never again!
