“Underwhelmed by Not-So-Dolce Palisades”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

More like a glorified dormitory than a fine resort/conference center. I arrived on a 90+ degree day, craving a swim, only to find out that the pool was closed down. There was no offer of a hotel credit or an agreement with a neighboring hotel with a pool.
I asked about getting a pedicure in their spa, and was referred to a place down the street (outside of the property), that turned out to be closed on Mondays.
There was no terry cloth robe in my room, no refrigerator, and no safe.
The conference space was excellent, the food quite good, but I would not return.

I must be on another planet because I read these reviews and I don't recognize the hotel.
Theoretically, it is pristine. In actuality, I have the window open and there is a loud train that is coming through at 2:00 and 4:00 in the morning and I have not slept for 2 nights. This in an empty hotel because the barely literate desk person could not articulate the trade offs. The tub was stopped up washing my feet ankle deep with the dirt of countless showers past. The rugs are tired, the chair is saggy and features a Velcro strap on top because the pillow is so pressed down it doesn't even approach the top of the chair any more.
With pristine like this it makes me long for Manhattan.

Wow! What a great place. It is a business hotel but very friendly and reasonably priced. Around a $100 per night. Kids under 18 cannot use the pool. Rooms are very large and the beds are great. They had the rollaway set up for us upon arrival. Now that is service. Jahida behind the desk was excellent. Hard to find the hotel in the dark, GPS takes you to a sub-division. Look for the IBM sign.

Room Tip: 3 great tips for this area. #1 eat at the hamburger stand down the road, you won't regret it...

The hotel property is out of this world. As a NYC resident, was looking for a quiet few days this was amazing. Only complaint is the size of the beds. For a couple, queen sized is not that spacious. They should have a few rooms with larger beds, I would pay extra for a better night's sleep.

The furniture is a bit dated, but rooms are impeccable.

Most area hotels were booked and I noticed Dolce Palisades on line for a value price.

Hotel is very different and not for all travelers. Designed originally for IBM VIP's and currently a conference center and meeting venue the rooms were similar to college dormitory rooms rather than modern hotel accomadations. The rooms could use an upgrade as the furniture is dated; but they were clean and comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and very beautiful. Front desk staff friendly and helpful.

On sight restaurant offers a terrific breakfast buffet at a reasonable price. Waitstaff very good.

Overall a positive experience.

Sight offers walking trails, inside pool (with lanes for laps), basketball, handball. Friendly bar with pool tables and ping pong.

Again, a college dorm atmosphere and feel.

Highly recommend for a business looking for an all enclusive location for a conference.

Would think a delightful venue for a wedding reception or rehearsal dinner.

Room Tip: Long walk to rooms from lobby and a long walk to parking lot plan ahead.

We had a 2-day company meeting here and I was surprised at the cleanliness and overall sprawling format of the grounds and meeting rooms. The room itself was a surprise with plenty of space, nice big picture window and very clean!

The meeting rooms were numerous, and most rooms were very spacious. The main meeting room with 3-large-projector screens insures noone misses the presentation content. Really top-notch technical setup.

The grounds are beautiful - it's a very nice 'breath of fresh air' to get away from the typical office meeting space and it felt a little like a 'retreat'.....at least as close as any company can get to that with cutbacks & restrained budgets! It was refreshing to wak to the view & the river and well-groomed grounds!

Restaurant was decent food, but the buffet style meant waiting in line for the popular items - this can quickly shave 20 minutes off a 1-hour lunch. Formal dinner on 2nd meeting night was excellent food and staff was very attentive.

Parking is a short walk, fine if the weather is agreeable but if it's rainy or cold this prove an issue (especially for us ladies whan we are trying to stay put-together for all-day meetings)! They do have valet parking, but the space looks limited - there was no charge (I beleive it was included with our meeting/group rates?) but the valet genuinely appreciated a couple bucks each run.

As a side not for Starbucks addicts - there is a drive-through location 1.9 miles away, a very quick drive even in "rush hour" times.....a Panera is right across the parking lot & a Walgreens as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to the elevator to minimize your walk, or, a room at the far end for more priv...

Facility is excellent, up to date, spacious and in a beautiful wooded secluded setting. The food is good, I would say more time spent on food presentation then the actual taste. Parking is some distance from entrance but not a big deal. Work out room is excellent so bring your workout clothes if your their on training.
