It is a very peaceful place.
Big and clean rooms with cosy balcony. Game room and small swimming pool are very nice for young children.
Restaurant with nice atmosphere, living music and good food.
And... nature.... divine nature

The air conditioner was quieter than many of this type but there was a heat wave and the unit seemed unable to reduce the humidity in the room to a really comfortable level. There was not a vent in the bathroom which I always think is a bad idea. They DID have one of those heat lamps I like though. The beds were hard which I don't mind but if you do keep this in mind. They only offer continental breakfast on weekends so we were left with the coffee maker in the room for early morning beverage but they only gave us one packet to make one cup and there were two of us.

When we pulled up, I was not impressed. I think getting new porch chairs could greatly improve the curb appeal. I was actually surprised when we went in our room because it was spacious and relatively modern. There were three sinks, which is helpful with a family of four. The beds and pillows were not comfortable. The bed was springy and the pillows flat. I did not sleep well. The owner(?) was nice but did not offer much help for what to do in the area. The kids were also looking forward to swimming but the pool was missing about two feet of water, so we didn't swim. The website shows their new continental breakfast area, but they only serve breakfast on the weekends; we were there midweek, of course. If you're looking for a visit to the Catskills, I would choose a different region all together.

We came for the Taste of Country festival and even though we had a rough first day because we called and they said there was a service we could use to get us to the festival for a certain amount they went above and beyond and ended up using their own vehicles to get their customers there. Day 2 after we came back after the concert they opened their kitchen to feed us and then kept the bar open so we could relax. The rooms were very clean and comfortable the atmosphere was great. The "heated pool" was great. We just want to thank Al and his family especially his son Jiddu for making our stay a great one so much so that we already booked for next year.

It was a last minute trip and overall we enjoyed our stay. Lady owner was very friendly and hospitable. The room was basic, but it had everything we needed. The yard area had swings and we even built a fire! But that was where the fun ended. This is not the hotel's fault of course but I just wanted to remind city travelers like myself not to forget about bugs! We totally forgot and did not use any bug repellent or cover up, and now even a week later, my arms and legs are still covered with at least 50 bug bites and I had to be treated by a doctor! But overall the lodge itself is just like its name, a lodge, and it was really nice to sit out on the balcony in the morning enjoying breakfast and the sun. And the place is dog friendly, which is why we decided to stay here in the first place. Just don't get bitten by the bugs!
