My husband and I recently spent our 4th of July vacation on Long Island for the first time. We stayed at a lovely establishment called the Orient Inn. We had a fabulous time! This B&B is tucked away on the North fork. You are situated between Orient State Park (approximately 15 minutes away by car) and Orient Village, which is a quaint community of restaurants and small specialty shops. This area of the island is very bike friendly so we would encourage people to rent bikes in order to take in the full beauty of the area.
Because the beach is very accessible (20 minutes away by bike), we went everyday stayed on the island. Every morning my husband and I were treated to a fantastic homemade breakfast. The owners - Joan and Howard - were very gracious. They were so accomodating and went out of their way to make us feel at home. My husband and I have been to many B&Bs and we would rate the Orient Inn as one of our top three choices. We highly recommend staying at this establishment. We plan to return again in the near future.
