“Damaschke Field”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

My father, George Case, was the manager of the O-Yanks from 1969-72. I know he had wonderful memories of Oneonta and Damaschke Field. As several said in their review "Old Time Baseball" and "Old Time Atmosphere" - absolutely true!!!!

For anyone interested in seeing major league baseball in COLOR from many years ago - definitely "old time baseball" but a look back at the way the game used to be - our website www.timelessbaseball.com. And you'll even see what spring training was like in Florida during the WWII era - rustic accommodations to say the least!

“Old time baseball”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

This is an oldtime field, if you love baseball in its basic form, this is the place to be. I belive a single A Detroit minor league team plays here (It might even be a lower level team).

“Old time atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2009

I grew up in Oneonta and spent many a summer night at Damascke Field. The family that owned it forever (Naders) recently sold the field. This was a single A affiliate for the Yankees forever. I saw many Yankee greats before they were great here. When I was younger the Old time Yankee greats and other Hall of Famers signed balls for free before the Hall of Fame weekend here. I have Joe Dimaggio, Mickey Mantle, Bob Feller balls from those days.

Classic old school park with huge power alleys. This is my field of dreams location and I spent many legion baseball games in the summer at this field.

Nothing fancy just old time baseball park.

“Closest Pro Baseball to Cooperstown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2007

This is the closest pro baseball to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. The field is about 30-40 minutes away. Stopped in on a Sunday after visiting the Hall of Fame during the day. The old original grandstand has wood benches and is pretty cool looking. There are metal bleachers down each lines (only the third base side ones have backs). These two (the old grandstand and the new metal bleachers) kind of look weird together, but all in all the park is a nice place to spend an afternoon/evening. Everything is affordable since this is Single A, the tix were $7 and the food is cheap ($1 snow cones for example). No alcohol at this park! Fun times though for sure!
