“Good dinner and friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

This german style gasthaus served us a tasty trout and sweet wine. Service was very friendly, and the price was moderate.

“Left with a smile.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

A lot to like not much to dislike. If you like German food and your in the area you won't be disappointed. I had the sauerbraten and my wife had the roulatin both were excellent. The red cabbage was to die for. Dessert/? Homemade sorbet was mouth watering. The decor was old,but for me, that only added to a great dining experience. Would def. go again. Service was great. Even the owner came out to each table and asked if everything was alright. Highly rec.!!!!

“A step back in time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013 via mobile

The Forsthaus is a fantastic little German restaurant straight out of Upstate New York history. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, the service is without equal. The atmosphere alone is enough reason to visit this restaurant. It is hard to describe exactly its charm, but it is truly a wonderful experience.

“Excellent choice of food and wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

This restaurant is part of Slide Mountain Forest Inn and Chalets but you dont have to stay at the hotel to eat here. The food is German/Austrian....but plenty of choice and cooked fresh. We had a lovely meal and wasn't expensive. All good choice of wine.

“Best Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

There during off season. Only breakfast was being served. Excellent. Can't wait to try dinner during summer months.
