Usually when we stay in Old Forge, we stay with friends, but they had family visiting. Our son was in a golf tournament at Thendara, so we needed to stay overnight. I read reviews on TripAdvisor from others and decided to stay at the 19th Green. It is right next to Thendara Golf Course. As usual, Trip Advisor reviewers were correct. This is one clean motel. It's not the Ritz, but you won't get that anyway up in OLd Forge. It was super clean, the owners are really nice, and a real plus was the heating/cooling unit - usually in chain hotels the unit blows on at least one bed - here, they have it across the room so it cooled nicely but didn't blow right on you. The room had a refrig, micro, and coffemaker and there is a convenience store a couple hundred yards down the street. The owners' dog, Chance, is a sweetheart.
A couple of days after we arrived back home, we had a letter from the owners with a newspaper clipping from their local paper about how our son did in the tournament (came in second). I thought that was an unlooked for special touch and was indicative of how friendly the place is.

The 19th Green Motel is so impeccably clean! I read the other reviews on tripadvisor, and put my in-laws at the motel for our stay in the Adirondacks over Memorial Day weekend. I was so impressed with the quality of the room, and the friendliness of the owners. Every morning, we would come to pick up my husband's parents, they would be outside talking and visiting with the owners, and their friendly labradoodle Chance. The room looked brand new on the inside! I have zero hesitation in giving this motel the highest recommendation!

my family and i have been go to the 19th green motel every year now for about 20 yrs the owners pat and nancy are the nicest people you can meet. they treat you like family. the rooms are always clean.my kids love going there and swimming in the inground pool witch is very clean and clear. to put it simple its just great place to stay when your visiting old forge. thanks ken. stl3636@yahoo.com

“Super Clean Motel”

The 19th Green Motel was a pleasure. The room was super clean. The room looked newly decorated, floor to ceiling. The bathroom was large as well as the motel room. The location is good, not too close to the center of the town but within walking distance. Deer welcomed us in the morning on the front lawn. We would definitely go back here as it is probably the cleanest motel we have had the pleasure staying at.

Owners are wonderful - friendly and run their motel very professionally. The room was squeaky clean and recently renovated, quite cozy. Bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. Plus, their dog is great!!
