We're from Huntington, and we eat at a lot of Japanese restaurants, so were excited to try this one. It was a Wednesday night and we were treating ourselves to dinner before seeing a play at the John Engman Theater down the road. We were seated quickly, but the dining room was freezing cold. The front door opens right into the dining room and every time someone comes in or out you are blasted with freezing cold air (if it's cold outside, of course). It was uncomfortable to sit in the cold room.
When we had questions about the menu, our server was unable to answer, and went in the back to check for us. She wasn't able to give us any more information than what was on the menu, so it was a total surprise when we were served and the dish was deep fried! (We would not have ordered it if we had known.)
We ordered an edamame appetizer that never came, and the side we ordered to come with the meal was served long before anything else.
The avocado salad was very tasty. But the sushi rolls I ordered had way too much rice, and the rice was different than what I'm used to from other Japanese restaurants. The rolls didn't taste very good either.
Overall, it was a very disappointing dining experience. We don't plan to return. (Good thing the play was so good!)
