“We only wish that we could have stayed at this hotel longer!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

Everything was excellent at Villa Koronios, and I and my girlfriend were happily surprised to discover how luxurious the pool was and how cozy, clean and well-equipped the room was. It really had everything we could wish for: well-functioning air-condition, a fridge and freezer to cool your water, a TV with multiple channels, and the room was really beautifully decorated and had an amazing view over the sea from the balcony! But the best thing with Villa Koronios is its wonderful staff: Maria and her husband. He picked us up from the ferry port and drove us all the way to the hotel, free of charge. This felt great, because we would have probably been sweaty and exhausted if we had to try to find our way to the hotel by ourselves with the local transportation. Then, upon arrival, we had a very nice welcoming from Maria and were given a lot of useful information. And on the day of departure, her husband drove us to the airport! The staff was really, really nice to us and we wish that we could have stayed at their hotel longer!

We spent 5 nights here, and were so happy that we had. Maria, the innkeeper, and her husband were absolutely wonderful, especially when we had special needs. They pciked us up and delivered us to the ferry dock, and moreover, were more than willing to drive us a few times when we needed a ride and cabs weren't available. Maria really bends over backwards to make guests feel at home. She is charming, friendly, and so helpful. The room was large, modern, comfortable, clean, and nicely-decorated and furnished. The hotel itself was also very attractive, with a beautiful pool and landscaping, vineyards all around, views of the sea, and a perect location. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the center of Fira and the bus station taking you everywhere on the island. Could not have been better. Even the price was very reasonable. Stay here, and you will be very pleased.

We reserved four rooms here for a group of guests who came for our wedding in santorini. The owner, Maria, is tremendously sweet and helpful. The villas are about a 10-15 minute walk from Fira square, in a nice quiet breezy area. The pool is wonderful and we spent a good amount of time lounging in the pool area. Breakfast is good and consists of coffee, juice, toast, bread, spreads, cheese, meat, and cake. Another huge plus is the free transfer to and from the port or airport. All of our guests enjoyed their stay here. Maria Maintains a relaxed atmosphere and we recommend this place for budget travelers and anyone who wants to be away from the noise of Fira central.

The view is beautiful, the rooms are large and nicely decorated. Everything is very clean and our host Maria was charming and very helpful. Wifi is available (and works) in the common room. The pool is inviting and a wonderful place to lounge and read or get a few laps in. It is down a small road from town but really worth the short walk and great to be away from the noise and bustle of Fira center and the cruise boat crowd. A wonderful find! +++you get pick up and drop off service to the port.

The Korionios Villa is not more than 10 minutes by feet from the center of Fira. It´located in a very quiet street. The room was cleaned daily, the pool as well.
Breakfast was nothing special but OK. The pool was very clean and quiet; in general the hotel was very well maintained. Maria, the owner of the Hotel, was very friendly and helpfull.
I definitely reccomend the Korionios Villa!

We stayed at Villa Koronios at the end of April which we knew was the off season, but we didn't realize just how "off" it was. We were actually the only people staying at the hotel during the time we were there. Because we came during the off season, there were definitely some drawbacks that we weren't expecting (buses only ran every few hours, Akrotiri was closed, and the hotel pool was empty). Also, during the off season, the family that owns the hotel lives about 10 minutes away, then they live at the hotel during the summer. Because of this, we were completely alone in the hotel at night. There was a number to call to reach the owners in case of emergencies, but since there were no phones in the bedrooms, the lobby area was locked at night, and we didn't have cellphones that work in Greece, the number didn't do us much good. Being all alone and isolated in the hotel at night reminded us a little bit of "The Shining". Except there was no hedge maze outside the hotel.

Now for the positives...Maria, the hotel owner was the sweetest little Greek woman ever-so friendly and helpful! Our only complaint about her was she forgot to put towels in our room after cleaning it the 2nd day we were there, and since we had no way to get in touch with her, we had to wait to shower till the next morning when she got to the hotel to make us breakfast. The rooms were basic but cute and clean. There was a little fridge in the room and a balcony with a nice view of the sea. The TV in the room was small and staticky and only picked up a few channels, but this wasn't an issue since we weren't in Santorini to watch TV. The bathroom had a small separate area for the shower with a curtain but no shower head holder, and the bathroom floor would get all wet when we'd shower. Breakfast was simple but adequate...a couple pastries each, bread with jams and butter, juice, and coffee. It was about a 10 minute leisurely uphill walk from the hotel to the bus station and Fira town center. We paid 35 euros per night for a double room including breakfasts and port/airport transfers, which we thought was a good deal.

Overall, I really enjoyed this hotel! I would definitely reccommend staying here during the on season, but probabaly wouldn't choose to stay here again during the off season.
