“Pictures arent trustworthy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights recently. We ended up only having breakfast once (it was that bad in quality and always stocked out). The pictures dont do it justice, it's exaggerated. The rooms and accomodations feel thrown together and very cheap. It has no views at all (only the lobby).

The owner's son was very helpful and tried to help and he was by far the nicest person there. The owner was a different story, first thing we got to was to him flipping out at us, followed by another flip out because we wanted to rent a car from a company that was not linked to him. To the point that he almost threw us out because we wanted to check other rental competitors.

We had some friends staying at a different hotel, and when they arrived with us he was angry with us becuase they had accompanied us to the hotel. Would not recommend here unless you only plan on sleeping and getting out for breakfast and pool/beach time.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 days in mid April at the start of their season - we were the first guests.
The staff are so friendly and helpful, and couldn't have done more for us. The rooms are very spacious and the decor is superb, and the whole hotel was spotless. It is just on the edge of Fira, about 10 minutes walk from the centre, and very quiet while we were there. There is a good sized pool with sunbeds and seating around it, and when we ordered drinks we were provided with a complementary plate of cold meats and cheese. The breakfast was good and had variety. The hotel had transport to collect us from the Port, and then we hired a car for 2 days to see Oia, Akrotiri and Kamari. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms 108 & 109 have good balconies and a view of the sea and the sunset.

My fiancé and I travelled with 10 members of our family to Santorini for our wedding. We searched the internet for a hotel which would be suitable for a large group of young and old. We were delighted with Philippion. The staff are fantastic. Super friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and very well presented. Whle the hotel is not in the heart of the city, it is a nice walk to town, with a sensational view along the way. Even my 82 yr old father managed it. The only suggestion I would make, is provision for even a basic room service option offering basic snacks and drinks. That woul have been handy when the kids were in the pool and didnt want to get out for a meal. That would make it even more perfect! We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: Just let them know what you're after when you book. We sent an itinerary of who was arriving whe...

I stayed in this hotel with my family for a week in June. The rooms were very clean, quit and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and had variety. Staff were friendly and polite. The hotel was in a nice location and 5 min from the town of Fira. I strongly recommend it.

Stayed here for a week in September, first impressions very good, room was spacious and clean, room 111, double room, bathroom and outdoor patio, only issue with this room was that the bed was extremely firm, woke in the morning with a stiff back. Hotel is 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Fira town which was nice after a large meal, also close to Santo winery, roughly 30 minute walk, good for sunset views and wine tasting. Staff at hotel were helpful and friendly, the Albanian guy, don't remember his name is a great asset to the hotel. Pool is nice, quiet most of the time, breakfast is basic but I never went hungry, comprised of tea, coffee, juice, tomatoes, cheese, fruit, cereal, bread, cake and yogurt. I would recommend this hotel, thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had a car for the week but you could use the bus service which seemed easy to use. If you have a car I would highly recommend a visit to Metaxi Mas restaurant, real greek food.

The hotel is in fantastic location, just 5 minutes walking to Fira. Very close to a supermarket, restaurants, bars and shops. The rooms clean and quiet. The breakfast was good enough for the start of the day. Staff friendly and ready to help you with any problem; Even providing you good tips on places to eat, to see and what to do on the island.

Arrived at this hotel, having specifically booked a twin room, to be told that 'Santorini' did not do twin rooms! Only double rooms available on the island and at this hotel was what I was told... I must have looked like this was my first time away from home...

This wasn't a great start when I didn't plan on sharing a bed and despite a bad intial meeting with the owner, who didn't have a great attitude - things worked out ok - he gave us two rooms for the first night and we checked out a day early - despite having pre-paid for 3 nights. I would have prefered to have moved to a more suitable hotel.

The owner ended up being decent enough and paid for any tea/coffee/fanta we had at the pool. - it didnt quite cover the expense but it was a gesture.

The place is spotless for sure and the courtyard areas are very cute. If you are after a double room away from the charm of Fira - it would suit your purpose and the rooms are a nice size.

It is important to note that the hotel is located a bit away from things - on the road into Fira so it lacks atmosphere - but you could stroll to the town in 10 minutes or so.

The staff were very pleasant and the pool area was nice and at the back of hotel so away from the main road. Breakfast was included and it was perfectly adequate.
