“Stunning views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

I would rate this hotel on the views alone, spectacular, all through the day, not only the sunset. Dmitris is very helpful when you arrive, and the breakfast is good. The room I had was small, but the terrace is lovely to take in the view, or to enjoy the sights and sounds of Fira. It is just 30 or so steps up to the busy shopping streets of Fira, so just where I wanted to be.

Room Tip: Anyone with a view.....

Thireas hotel, located in Fira Greece , is the hotel for a relaxing, luxurious stay in santorini! As i said earlier, located in the heart of fira , Thireas hotel had the most amaizing view, that view we all visit santorini for : " the volcano "!
We woke up every morning, enjoyed breakfast at the terrace staring at that magnificent creature and enjoying its glorious presence! I wish you travelers will get the chance to visit thireas hotel, enjoy its stay and its great location! Safe trip ;)

Arrival to hotel was a little step but not difficult checking was simple and quick.

The room was standard but clean fresh and great views from balcony showers worked well as did air con
The beds were comfy and linen was good quality the room was a little small but made up for ir with its free wi if and centrally located
Short walk out the door and you were on gold street it gets it's name from all the jewellery stores on that stretch of room minutes from all restaurants...on the caldera ocean front side the perfect side of the island to be on when staying at satori I...

Hired a quad bike to visit the island and loved the beaches ...worth hiring a bike easy to drive and get around felt safe ... The breakfast is brought to your room on request and is simple hard boiled egg,jam selection pastrys and bread rolls ...tea or coffee, juice.

Tranquil bar on one the beaches was the best food I have ever eaten at ,and if u eat or drink at this bar you get to use there private beach umbrellas and chairs ,which normally have to pay to use when staying on the beach.
Look the bar up it want let u down its the place we miss most about santorini, amanda is a beach regular and is a reiki and spiritual healer and may approach u on the beach ,don't Shoe her away she is amazing if your into that stuff.

Room Tip: Just ask for large room they do have them on your booking request.

We had to reschedule our ferry coming from Mykonos and I contacted the hotel by email in order to let them know. We had scheduled a ferry transfer but it wasn't rescheduled to our new arrival hour, 2 hours earlier.

We were able to get a taxi about 45 minutes later and arrived at the hotel; reception was CLOSED (nobody was at the hotel to help or even keep our luggage) and we had to wait about 90 minutes before somebody arrived in order to check-in.

Hotel advertised a spa tub that was unusable when we checked in. Despite numerous requests for cleaning it up, it stayed dirty throughout our stay.

We checked out about one hour after the specified check-out time. Staff was adamant about charging a late check-out fee. Said I wouldn't pay a penny because of all the hassle and called it a deal. Rudest service we've had in Greece by far.

All in all, the room was very nice and clean and breakfast was OK. Property has potential if they can just get their act together.

Stayed 2 nights @ September 2009

Room Tip: Stayed at Apollon, very nice suite

My wife and I stayed here in may and at first, we were slightly skeptical as there were not too many reviews on this place. Let me say, this was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Greece.

Positives: The view is absolutely breathtaking. You are right on the edge of the caldera with great views of the volcano and oia. The room was decent sized with a good sized bathroom. We had breakfast every morning on the terrace which was phenomenal. The manager dimitri was incredibly helpful and was very informative in planning our stay.

The only negative is that there are a lot of stairs to get to the hotel which might be cumbersome for an elderly couple or one with young children. However, if you want to stay in a hotel with a caldera view, every place will require cllimb down steps.

Great trip and great service.

Loved Hotel Thireas! Great view. Breakfast was very good with a pretty large variety. What stood out most was how great Dimitri in reception was. Very friendly and helpful. Truly enjoyed his hospitality. Location was ideal. You will love Santorini amd Hotel Thireas.

After a rough ferry ride to port, the nice shuttle driver (enzo/ancil-not sure) actually bought us a drink to settle my wife down while we waited for the remaining transfers. Ride to the hotel was 10mins maybe.. he took our bags down the steps to the hotel (not far at all) and made sure Dymitri checked us in- very nice owner-saw that my wife was weary from the ferry ride and thoughfully recommended we get some rest in our room then he'd give us a few recommendations around town. Room was larger than expected with an amazing view. Great bathroom with all the amenities, plenty of storage and electrical outlets-you do need converters, as usual. Also bottled water from the min-bar(book a room w/a minibar). Wind is a factor in May and we had to have 1 days breakfast in bed vs on the balcony, which ended up being fine. Breakfast was simple but good. Hard boiled egg, assortment of breads, yogurt with fruit and coffee/juice. Wonderful hotel, staff, location and the view is amazing- close to anything you could want to do in Fira, short walk to the bus to beaches/OIA.

Room Tip: Book the room with the mini-bar.. snacks/bottled water and even alcohol are cheap.
