We arrived early and were welcomed with open arms. One of the staff was waiting down the lane way with a trolley when our taxi arrived, so we didn't need to struggle with our luggage down the cobblestone lane way. Despite our room not yet being ready (we were 90 mins before check-in time), they were able to give us a courtesy room where we could freshen up, change and store our luggage, and then relax by the pool.
They clearly do a very thorough clean between guests, as when we got to our suite, even the shelves in the cupboards were still damp from a good wipe out. Our luggage was moved from the courtesy room for us, and we were left to settle in.
Our room was the Carmen Suite, and it was perfect for us. Travelling with our 9 year old son, there were two bedrooms each with a queen size bed, a reasonably sized bathroom and large living space. On top of that we also had a large patio out the front overlooking the pool, with both a table and chairs and sun lounges. And off the living room to the side another patio with small table and chairs.
The outstanding feature of this property, however, is the exceptional service from amazing staff. When arriving at the pool you are almost instantly given ice water which is consistently topped up during the day. The staff are all incredibly friendly, and make you feel like a member of their family - nothing is too much trouble. The pool area is fabulous, and very private by Santorini standards, and the water quality of the pool impeccable.
The breakfast each morning was fabulous, delivered to your suite to be enjoyed on the patio overlooking the pool and sea. The choice available for breakfast is wonderful, and so delicious.
We had an outstanding stay at Aria, and would recommend it anyone. If we visit Santorini again this would be the only place we'd want to stay. Thanks so much to Dimitri, Betty, Kristoff and the rest of the staff for an outstanding experience.
