Rena's Villas is a bit out of the town and was plenty quiet for sleeping. The main shopping area of Fira and the caldera are really just a 10 minute walk. Santorini is so narrow there that we had water views from the east side of the island. The rooms are clean and quaint. I discovered after a trip to the museum in Fira that they were decorated with different designs from the wall paintings found in the ruins at Akrotiri.
While it was early May and a bit cool for swimming on the days we were there, the pool was ready and very clean. This was a plus as we did see many pools on the island that had not been filled yet. While we didn't dive in, it was a very friendly place to sit and get some sun and visit. Beach towels were available right there, too.
Pano, who runs the place, was very helpful with recommendations for touring the island. His restaurant recommendations were excellent! Also, for our breakfast, his aunt (I presume as he called her "Thea") made some wonderful raisins in a sweet syrup for the yogurt. Yes, she made the raisins! The fresh yogurt was nice and thick Greek style. We were made to feel very much at home.
