“Great Service Convenient Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Vivi and staff had excellent service. Fira is a great location to stay at. The rooms were nice but this was not a 5 star hotel. Shower & restrooms need a renovation. Rooms are pretty small and not renovated. They had great recommendations like the Argo restaurant.

Room Tip: Some rooms like Apiliotis have caldera views but not a sunset view

In June we visited Santorini for the first time, and it was one of the most enjoyable trips in my life. In some way it is due to Aigialos hotel. We are very thankful to it's friendly and caring staff, who did their best to make us feel just like at home. If one day we come back to Santorini, I will not hesitate which hotel to choose, and I highly recommend Aigialos to everyone who wants not only to visit this bautiful island, but also to feel it.

Having stayed for four days here I have nothing but praise for Magda and the staff who could not have done more to make our stay truly memorable. Nothing was too much trouble and each of the 3 rooms we used was superb. As other reviewers note, the location is superb for central Thira whilst still being quite secluded.
A special mention must go to the chef here who is incredibly talented. We ate twice here (once on our private terrace and once poolside) and on both occasions the food was the best I tasted in Santorini - bravo!
Quite simply, an excellent stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are very good but ask for one higher up to get the very best views of the caldera

My wife and I just returned from Santorini and a stay at Agialos. I must admit that getting to the hotel from the airport and walking to the hotel from the car had us a bit worried in that it's not impressive. But then you clear the ridge and see nothing but blue water and sheer beauty. At check in we were presented with refreshingly cold towels as well as a tasty local treat to wake up the palate. Magda completed the check by providing us with a wealth of information about the locale. Vivi, the manager, was also very accomodating, kind, and professional. The rooms are small but clean and I believe each has its own outside sitting area; ours overlooked the sheer beauty! The hotel also provides very easy access to the upper ridge where all the shops etc. are located. We also discovered later in the trip that you can walk for as far as your legs will take up on that ridge and it's all wonderful. My only complaint was the sitting area had no umbrella so there was no rest from the sun, which you need in the afternoon hours. We would stay at the Aigialos again in a second.

Room Tip: Just make sure what your outside sitting faces as they are not all the same.

A great experience! The service was impeccable, when we arrived the guys were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay. We were upgraded to an 'exclusive house' on arrival which offered a good sized living space, separate bedroom and twin balconies where we could enjoy the views of the volcano and out to sea. Breakfast was also served on the balcony which was a great experience, being able to kick back, enjoy the views and feed my face! The hotel itself is within a few minutes’ walk of the centre of Fira and there are a couple of nearby car parks if you rent a car. This hotel is definitely recommended, the only downside I can think of is our bathroom was a little on the small side, but as I was there to enjoy the island and the other hotel facilities it’d didn’t have any impact on my stay.

This property is awesome. We stayed in both fira and oia which was the perfect combo. While oia is beautiful you can not get a better view of the caldera than you can from this hotel. Watching sunsets/sunrise here is awesome...people walk up in front of this hotel just to view it from this area and you can watch it right from your hotel balcony. The hotel is beautiful. As other reviews have said there is a lot of stairs but it adds to the charm of the hotel. From the moment we arrived the service was amazing. We ordered dinner there and had breakfast there each morning...delicious. The location of the hotel is perfect. Close enough to walk around all of fira but just outside the main area enough that it is quiet and relaxing. Each morning we had breakfast as we watched a man herding about 200 goats down the cliffs and men taking their donkeys to their location for rides, all while overlooking the caldera...it was crazy beautiful. Our room was huge and offered lots of space and storage. While the bathroom was beautiful I would have preferred to have the shower head mounted higher with a shower curtain as it was lower about knee level. That took getting used to but really was not an issue. The housekepping was amazing...I do not know how they do it with all the levels/stairs but they not only cleaned but organized, it was more than I have ever experienced in any hotel.

My husband and I travel a lot and its rare for me to give a hotel such a high review. We honestly could not have asked for a better place to stay. Everything from the food, the service , the view - oh my! As soon as we arrived and were settled into our room we were delivered a complimentary bottle of wine. Whenever we spent time by the pool we were served a gorgeous fruit smoothie which was perfect. The hotel is located in a great part of Fira, really close to all the shops, restaurants etc but not too close so it's very quiet. The service is impeccable and a big shout out to Magda who is an absolute pleasure to be around and so helpful. The food is amazing and the service is fantastic. Anything you ask you need you can have. We did not want to leave and are already planning our next trip back.
