“Fabulous meal in a warm homely atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

Tonight we had the pleasure of trying Salt and Pepper. After reading the reviews my expectations were incredibly high and it did not disappoint in the
least.

Upon entering, Irene, the owner remembered us from having made our reservation the previous day and greeted us warmly.

We ordered the oven beans and grilled vegetables as an appetizer and then went on to order 2 main courses. Irene, advised us that it would be too much food, and suggested ordering one main to share. She was 100 percent correct. Upon her advice, we ordered the chicken and mushrooms in wine.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly and we felt as we were in Irene's home kitchen. Nothing was too much trouble.

Over and above this, each and every dish we had was superb. I cannot fault anything at all.

You cannot get better value on this island. The bill was extremely reasonably priced.

Irene is genuine in her desire to please.

We enjoyed it so much that we have actually made reservations for tomorrow night too - which will be our last night in Santorini.

“Great Greek Restaurant Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

We walked by the restaurant on our way to Firostefani for searching on the particular blue domed church that was shown on a typical Santorini postcard, and then I remembered seeing this restaurant name from Tripadviser. Great service and good food. We were first offered bread with yogurt dip, and rice wrapped in leaves. We ordered the mixed grilled and cod in pan. Good food. Finally, we were offered small ice-cream bar at the end! The lady there was very nice!! however, do reserve some time for dinning because they do slow food, as stated on the signs there ;)

“Rosi, Montreal, Canada, Irene is the best hostess ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

We were walking by this quaint little restaurant and decided to go there for supper unfortunately, we did not have a reservation, so the next day we tried our luck again and were accomodated. More than the great food Irene, is the best hostess ever, she was warm and caring and helpful in choosing the right mix and quantity. Our dining experience was amazing and only added to an already wonderful trip.

“Do not miss this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

This place has both a wonderful atmosphere and has a great selection of dishes that are cooked with love. The restaurant is owned and run by a husband, who is the chef, and a wife who is front of house. I had reservations about visiting as the restuarant is positioned on the side of a busy road. Don't let this put you off as we had a wonderful evening and were looked after by the lady extremely well. We were given complimentary bread, dip and mini dolmados. I had grilled smoked mackerel to start with and my husband had the shrimps which were enormous and tasty. We both had fish for our main course which was excellent. We had no room for dessert but again were provided with a complimentary ice cream to finish. The litre of wine at only 10 Euros was excellent value for money and tasted good too. The only down side is that the restaurant is small and the tables are very close together. Normally this would put us off but we enjoyed it so much that the we are eating there again tonight.

“Expertly prepared meal coupled with warm and cheery hospitality.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014 via mobile

Found on trip advisor. We made reservations and I suggest you do the same as it's always busy in mid to high season.

We came in and she remembered us from the night before. She was warm and caring right from the get go. We sat and she bustled about like a mother hen tending to her flock. Before we even ordered she dropped off bottled water, fresh bread, house made tzatziki, and dill wrapped rice rolls. We ordered the famous santorini tomato balls, the santorini salad and the mixed seafood grill to share.

The tomato balls we lightly fried and a excellent opener. Next she brought the salad and the main together. The arugula, cherry tomatoes, lettuce and goat cheese salad was light and full of complimentary flavours. The cheese paired wonderfully with the unique cherry tomatoes and the arugula brought a richness to the dish.

The main was extraordinary. A massive portion of grilled octopus, squid, very large prawns, and mussels, all lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I have not eaten so well in quite some time.

I had the pleasure of talking to the husband and wife pair after we dined and they are genuine and caring, she even wanted to make sure we had water in our hotel room for later! Cannot say enough good things about the restaurant. A Fira must!
