“Great local food in the centre of Fira”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We came to Naoussa on the recommendation of our hotel, and we loved it so much we came back again. Our first trip there was on our first night, and it was a great place to go to feel welcome in a new town. Also, the prices were really good value so you didn't have that feeling of being ripped off on your first day on holiday.

Lots of local dishes on offer, and very good value wine. You can gorge yourself here with great local food at a very decent price. Would highly recommend as the "go to" feeding station in Fira.

“Way overrated”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Cant believe this place got such a high rating on TA. We went in with high hopes and came out with huge disappointment. Ordered a grilled octopus at eur14.5 but the portion is as tiny as an appetizer back home. Furthermore, the octopus tasted bland, ungrilled, rubberry and emerged in a plate of olive oil. Everyone around us was asked about how the food was several times except us. Finally we asked the server ourselves to verify that our dish was indeed a grilled octopus. Moussaka was average at best compared to many in NY. Lastly, we did not get a limo cello like everyone else around us. Needless to say we did not tip and will not visit again. Negative star if possible.

“INCREDIBLE Home-Style cooking!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Absolutely one of the most delicious meals I have ever had in all of Greece - which is a tall order. Santorini brothers own and run this amazing tavern... which had queues even in October for dinner. I would highly suggest just telling the wait staff to bring you food. Everything is absolutely delicious. Couldn't recommend more!! My other half is already recruiting friends to join us next time in Santorini just for this food. The whole meal was less than 50 euros for two of us.

The only drawback is no caldera views - however, in our experience - sitting on the cliffside for a view results in paying around 25% more for far less superior quality food.

“Traditional taverna with home-cooked food - highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

This typical taverna located near to the cable-car station in Fira is a must! It doesn't have a caldera view, but don't let that put you off as the food is really great, and the menu offers a very wide selection, including fresh fish. Tsatsiki was the best we had during our visit. We ate here several times in 2 weeks and every time we were absolutely delighted with our meal. Also very good value and sunstantial portions. Don't miss this!
