“A gem in the heart of Oia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

We arrived at this property with flagstone paths, dotted with geranium pots and white washed buildings and quickly fell in love with its charms. From the friendly staff (thank you, Georgia!) to the relaxing pool and terraces with breathtaking views of Oia, Hotel Aethrio a great spot. We had 2 nights in Oia, our family of 4 and stayed in a the spacious quad studio. Tall ceilings, clean rooms, with A/C and a nice breakfast included and bar service option too. The hotel location is great for exploring Oia, steps away from excellent restaurants, shops and the beautiful Oia vistas. If you are looking for a casual, charming, quiet escape this is it!

This hotel is exceptionally quiet, very well located and has all the facilities you need. A lovely buffet breakfast with Greek yoghurt, fresh fruits, home made pastries and gorgeous bread sets you up for the day. The pool is warm and clean, with towels provided. The grounds are beautiful - pots of really well kept plants and cooling palms. There is a limited but adequate snack menu with Greek salad and toasted cheese sandwiches plus well priced drinks. Each room has a sitting area and there is free wifi by the pool and on the breakfast terrace. Charming staff. Very good value.

I didn't have very high expectations for this hotel for the price which is relatively cheap compared with other hotels in the same area which go up to 4,000$ per night. But the hotel turned out to be very nice. Our room was very big. We had a second bed in the attic. The hotel has a nice pool which is very important as the are not many nice beaches in Oia or Santorini. The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is in the heart of Oia where everyone goes to watch the sunset. We had an amazing view from the terrace on the roof of our room. Highly recommended hotel for this price in Oia.

We are so glad we took on the advice of other Trip Advisor reviewers and stayed in this hotel. It was perfect. An oasis away from the crowds of the main street in Oia.

Our room (apartment) was very big and kept very clean throughout our stay. The whole (rather large) grounds of the hotel were kept immaculate including the pool.

Breakfast was very good quality and varied a bit each day.

We cannot speak highly enough of the staff at the hotel. Always very pleasant and helpful - and kept my son happy with sweets :-)

There are also very good views of the sunset from the terrace - again away from the crowds of Oia and a good selection of quality restaurants on the doorstep.

If you're staying in Oia and want a good value for money hotel I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!

I would absolutely stay here again. Location, location, location! It's dead smack in the center of Oia. Walking distance to all the shops & restaurants. The staff, Georgia in particular were extremely friendly. The rooms were very clean. We had a superior room and it was huge. The views from our upper balcony were stunning. In all directions there were views. The bed was hard as a board. I actually fell over, smacked my nose on the bed and bled all over the sheets. Luckily they were understanding and did not charge us for that. The breakfast was small but it was free what else can you ask for. For the price, I feel like finding this hotel was an absolute steal. If I ever make it to Santorini again, I know where I'm staying!

Room Tip: Request a room with a view and you'll catch some beautiful sunsets.

This small hotel has a unique charm. It is most certainly a one of a kind place and each room is also one of a kind. We chose a superior room which was quite large with a comfortable living room and separate bedroom which was up a flight of stairs. We had two balconies which gave a great view of the sea on the east side of the island. The hotel has a very nice pool with plenty of lounge chairs and pool towels available. The room was quite clean as were the public areas. It is in the heart of Oia. The breakfast was rather simple and not the best part of the experience. This is not a luxury place if that is what you are looking for but it is pleasant and a very good value. We were pleased. One tip....if you have any problem negotiating hills or stairs this may not be the place for you....but, Santorini may not be the best place for you generally because of the elevation and the walking challenges.

Room Tip: The rooms with balconies facing the sea are worth the extra money.
