The title says it all... This was an unbelievable honeymoon destination. Obviously Andronis is not cheap, but you get what you pay for... if you are looking for a bargain trip, do not go here. If you work your butt off and want the best, Andronis is the place for you. My wife and I came to Anronis for just under a week after spending the previous week in Mykonos. The hotel was incredible gorgeous and the service was top notch. I am experienced traveler, and Andronis surpassed all my expectations... I don't know what was more beautiful, the hotel property/views or the look on my wife's face when she first saw the hotel (I did the hotel selection).
For starters, Oia is the best place to stay in all of Santorini... no contest. In my opinion, Andronis Luxory Suites is the best hotel in all of Santorini. We were greeted with champagne, and given a tour of the property by Alex. He was very funny, and had great local knowledge of the island, which was very helpful throughout the trip. We were then taken to our room, which was at the highest point of the hotel above the lobby... It was actually perfect for us. To have a patio in Santorini with no one looking down on you was priceless (nude sunbathing? Maybe). The view was undeniable, and although most hotels in Oia have a good view, the location of this hotel was the best. The angle of the hotel ensured that the sun wasn't roasting you in the afternoon, which was my main concern with Mystique. Our room was very clean, and simple, which is Greek style... we loved how comfortable the bed was as well as the two day beds we had (inside and outside).
We had breakfast lunch at the hotel everyday... the Greek salad was a work of art (lunch), and the breakfast was outstanding. No cheap buffets... instead, made to order anything you want, and delivered right on time. The staff did a wonderful job of setting up breakfast on our patio and making each morning like waking up in heaven (see attached pics). Special mention to Chris for his helpful recommendations... he showed up each morning with a smile and laid out a gorgeous meal.
My favorite part about staying at Andronis was not only the service, but the name recognition across the island. Every reservation he hotel made for us guaranteed us the best table in the house and impeccable service at every restaurant. This is critical when you are going down to Amoudi Bay for the world's most famous sunset... we arrived at Dimitris only to see dozens of people with cameras filling up the restaurant. Once we told them our name, they saw we were from Andronis and took us to the best table with a direct view of an amazing sunset... we were literally right on the water. When we wanted to explore other parts of the island, the hotel arranged for a rental car to be delivered to us... and provided us with incredible recommendations. We visited Akrotyri (excavation site), wine vineyards, red/black beach and the highest point on the island.
Lastly, my only concern with Oia was that the restaurants in the town weren't as amazing as I hoped (Dimitris excluded.., amazing fresh fish/lobster). As a result, we ended up having dinner at multiple Andronis Hotels... and loved it! We first had dinner at the Boutique hotel where we encountered the most amazing server... she was extremely knowledgeable and attentive making dinner at Andronis perfect. We also had live music that was adorably romantic. We later had wine tasting and dinner at the Luxory Suites in the King/Queen chair. Wine Tasting is a MUST... it is well worth the price as we got 6 bottles of wine, which were sent up to our room afterwards on ice. The wine expert was a true joy... we learned so much and yet had a great time! We then continued on to dinner where we enjoyed our favorite meal during our stay at Santorini.
Again, if you're looking for a bargain deal or a cheap trip to Santorini... Andronis is not the right hotel for you! If you are looking for a true taste of heaven with world class service and views, Andronis is where you want to be. Alex did a great job being my primary contact and taking care of everything we needed... he and the rest of the staff made this the perfect ending to an amazing HoneyMoon!
My only request... please don't have the Kardashians there again. They attract a bad crowd and are not a good representation of the US. Other than that, you guys are perfect!!!
