“Nice but very small !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

It's a nice hotel, good location, but the room is very small (like a cave) and the bathroom/toilet is super tiny. You can't even turn around comfortably in the shower room (no bathtub). There is no glass wall or curtain to separate the shower area from the toilet, so when you take a shower, it will get wet all over no matter how careful you are. Besides, there is no breakfast served at the hotel. The rates are pretty high compared to the quality. Not for value for money!

Room Tip: Ask for bigger rooms but have to pay more, with minimum 4-7 nights' restriction, too much for su...

When staying in Oia, of course you can expect spectacular views... But really, the integrity of your accommodation can be what separates an exceptional experience from mediocre! From the moment we walked through the gates of the newly renovated Aris Caves we were wowed. The grounds are very neat & clean and the classic whitewash with blue-trim painted villas adds to the visual experience. Rooms are well decorated, modern, and everything is very well kept. Aside from just having a beautiful place to stay, we found the hotel staff to be far above and beyond what our expectations might have been. Truly dedicated to the enjoyment and comfort of their patrons, the personnel didn't miss a beat. We were constantly impresed with new suggestions/reservations/information etc for island activities, transfers/transportation, dining/nightlife and basically anything else we needed to make sure our vacation was nothing short of incredible!
Highly recommend Aris Caves to ensure an amazing Santorini Island experience. Can't wait to come back!

From pre-arrival to the day we left, Christina took great care of us. The transfer shuttle from the airport or seaport is critical to getting to and from the hotel at a very reasonable price. The driver and the porter were very helpful moving our luggage and getting us where we needed to be. We were absolutely moved by the view available at Aris Caves. It juts out a little from the Caldera where you have an essentially unobstructed view of the famous Oia sunsets. Looking below you is the pristine water in the caldera, and above you are tourists ambitiously trying to capture the same view you have every morning.

The rooms were clean, well outfitted, and the facilities were impeccably kept. The flowers on the grounds are gorgeous. The caves were spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect. Right in the middle of the central part of town. A short walk up the stairs, you're in the middle of the famous Oia only a few short steps away from the bus transfer depot, excellent cafes and restaurants, souvenir shops, and picture-perfect landmarks.

Christina was young and energetic. She gave us amazing recommendations on things to do, restaurants to eat in, and things to see. She was very personable and enjoys talking to guests which is fantastic.

We will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Pick a room with a hot-tub (it doesn't have to be hot but more like a mini, private, outdoor bub...

I too could not believe my eyes! This was the most beautiful place we have stayed. The position was fantastic with breathtaking views over the Caldera. There are lots of steps down to Aris Caves but so worth the effort. The cave room we had was called Fournos (little oven) it was so pretty, everything was painted white so very calming and relaxing, it had everything we needed. It was amazing we could see the sea from our bed! Compared to a lot of properties over looking the Caldera it was very good value.
Christina was so lovely and friendly, she was very helpful and gave us good information about Oia.Thank you so much Christina .... we will be back!

Room Tip: All the rooms looked amazing!

I travel extensively internationally and found myself with an off week in southern Europe. Rather than return to Canada for a quick turnaround, I booked a room at Aris Caves and my wife flew in to join me for the week. We loved the location and our room. Christina and her staff were wonderful and made the experience very special for both of us. Christina made us feel completely at home and kindly arranged transfers, restaurants, boat tour and car rental. We will definitely return.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Literally, like an eagle's nest hanging in the cliff of the island, Aris Caves is located only a few minutes via stairs down from the center of the lovely village of Oia. Yet the placing of the houses is configured like an amphitheatre, tranquil and ideal to relax, to dream and to enjoy the breathtaking view across the Santorini Caldera, the volcano Nea Kameni and the deep blue Aegean Sea.Spread over 4 levels are 7 self-catering, fully equipped and separate studios, apartments and a suite, each with kitchenette, shower/toilet, air conditioning, internet and its own terrace. The large terrace in the center and the sun terrace next to the entrance of Aris Caves are open to all guests and offer probably some of the best views of Oia. Due to the cliff side location, stairs and low perimeter walls of the property, we recommend children to be at least 8 years of age and unfortunately cannot recommend our hotel to guests with mobiliy issues. ... more   less
