“Amazing sunset spot with great hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

We loved staying here. Everyone was so helpful and we couldn't have picked a more perfect spot for a romantic sunset view. The hotel staff was so nice and even upgraded us into a nicer suite! There were a lot of stairs near the hotel and the hotel staff was so helpful in moving our bags. was so nice and helpful, even offering to drive us to Fira at night. Oia is a great place to stay in my opinion. If you wait a more romantic, quieter experience I would stay in Oia. If you are in your 20s and want to party stay in Fira. Our room, the Marine Deluxe Suite was nice with a direct view of the sunset. With a hot tub on a private balcony just down a set of stairs was great for a private way off the crowded streets to watch the sunset. With the hotel's amazing view of the sunset people line up around and near the hotel to watch the sunset. However, the balcony is tucked away far enough away to give you some privacy.

I did my fair share of search for hotels before booking and choosing Art Maisons proved to be the right choice.
Thank you Lee at Trip Advisor for suggesting this small property for our honeymoon.
Except for the amazing location facilities and designs i mostly enjoyed the staff both at the castle and the aspaki, always happy to assist.

it is slightly confusing when trying to reserve Art maisons so we called the reservations. A pleasant and most helpful lady explained in full details the main difference between the aspaki and the castle and we ended up in the aspaki, the newly renovated one.
when we arrived we were greeted by the driver and brought to ia, a bellboyed assisted us with luggage and shortly we were escorted to our cave pool suite.
our suite had a cave pool carved in the cliff overlooking the sea, the suite was very minimal with natural colors and designs, very spacious bathrooms, very good wifi connection, bith in the room and the balcony and excellent service. Let me start with the breakfast, very delicious, well presented and correctly served by a young lovely girl with french accent. Our suite was cleaned twice a day and the balcony area was cleaned twice a day by a very decent and friendly man.All our questions and travel arrangements were organized by the front desk, there were two lovely girls always happy and patient.Once we went to the castle for sunset and we enjoyed it very much. Do not miss the boat cruises around the island, simply amazing.

Room Tip: i did see two of the other suite types and i think the exclusive ones are the most private and upsca...

We loved staying here. Everyone was so helpful and we couldn't have picked a more perfect spot for a romantic sunset view. Our patio had a thick wooden door that locked, so even though there was a path (down to the dock) in front of us that people lined up on each evening, we felt very secluded and private. We drank champagne and watched the sun set from our private hot tub. In the mornings, we drank espresso and enjoyed the serene ocean view while we ate our breakfast on the patio. Our suite at Oia Castle was in the typical Santorini cave style, but this one had 3 windows that let in plenty of light and also let in a nice breeze. They put up a canopy over the patio that gave it some shade in the heat of the day but did nothing to obstruct the breeze or the view. If I could, I would rate it a 4 1/2. The only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 was simply that there was not a pool. However, they did direct us to a restaurant/pool/bar just a short walk away that was very nice and had poolside wine service. It was a fine tradeoff for the private balcony and hot tub. I would definitely recommend this property.

Room Tip: Ask for the suite with the hot tub!

We traveled for the past 2 weeks in Greece and Santorini was by far the most beautiful relaxing and amazing experience.
Our hotel was recommended by a friend who stayed at Aspaki, a real gem located perfectly in the middle of the Oia where town splits in two. Right in that edge Aspaki opens to an amazing panoramic view of full caldera and sea views.

Our exclusive suite was very spacious with 1 bedroom, one large and tastefully decorated living area, 2 bathrooms and the best balcony you could picture.
Everything we dreamt about and more....that was our experience at Aspaki.
Extremely clean, attentive staff, yummy breakfast and amazing cocktail selections. Room service was limited, but overall it exceeded all our expectations.
Many thanks to Daniele, the excellent cleaning team and the adorable French chef.
We would return

We just finished our stay at Oia Castles and generally had a good time.

The hotel charges what you would pay for a 5-star facility but it is not quite what you get. You need to keep in mind that you are paying for getting to stay on the side of Oia that has a direct-view of the sunset. While everyone else lines up outside - you get to sit on your own patio and look out at the water. That being said - it would be nice if the inside of the suites were "5-star" quality as well.

Also - most of the reviewers can only speak to the room they stayed in - since this is a set of boutique suites - and each room and view are different. We stayed in the Olympic Deluxe Villa (2 BR, 1.5 bath suite).

The good:
1. INCREDIBLE view
2. Very friendly and mostly attentive service
3. The room is clean
4. Promptly served breakfast (but limited menu)

The bad (or needs improvement):
1. The room itself (including bedding and bathroom) is only 3.5 stars and the style is unique to say the least. The bathroom is more run down.
2. The room is down 50 steep and sloped steps - which you have to climb every time you want to go into the city.
3. The room is right by the main path down to the dock. Donkeys go up and down it many times a day. The path is often strewn with donkey poop.
4. There is a cave pool (which is basically an indoor, fancy, whirlpool); beware if you are claustrophobic. There is an outdoor pool but it is a 5 minute and many step walk away.
5. The patio needs an umbrella or a awning that covers the entire area - it is too hot to sit out comfortably most of the day without this. They have an awning that only partially covers a quarter of the seating area.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

We started our visit here at two stars, but changed it to four stars by the end of our four day stay. So we would give it an overall rating of three. My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. We spent the first four days at the Fanari Villas. (Great hotel! Read my review. We highly recommend this hotel!) For the last four nights, we wanted to stay at a "nicer" hotel and treat ourselves. We booked a room with a cave pool. When we got to our room, we found that the cave pool was not next to our room, instead we had to walk through another hotel room balcony area to get to it. The room was nice, but our window was small, and our view was a staircase. When you are staying at a hotel overlooking a breathtaking view, you want a window with a view. My husband spoke to the manager, but she was unhelpful. PLEASE NOTE: when booking here, request a room with a window with a view and a cave pool next to the room!

The next day a family of five checked into the hotel and stayed in the room between our room and our cave pool. They had visitors come to the hotel and they hung out on their balcony and our walkway. We didn't feel comfortable sitting in our cave pool area, and had to close our window because they were loud. I was very upset. We were spending a lot of money for our room. I spoke to the manager, and she was very helpful this time. She agreed to refund us our money for the rest of the stay, and find us another hotel, or upgrade our room at Aspaki. We ended up choosing the upgrade. In the end, we don't think we were upgraded. It was a cave room pool, the one we thought we had booked originally.

However, the next room was perfect! Spacious, clean, great views, and a private balcony with a cave pool. We enjoyed every moment in our new room. The maintenance staff was very friendly and helpful. They cleaned our rooms two times a day! The made to order breakfasts were delicious! The chef and waitress were friendly and attentive. The views from this hotel are amazing. Only drawback: the "lounge chairs" on our balcony were not comfortable. They were essentially beanbag chairs that unfolded, if you wanted to lay down.

Stay here, but beware when booking!
