Delfini.... it was my home in Oia. I'll keep this short as I have alot of wonderful things to say about Rena and George, but this column is comments regarding the room, so here goes..

1. Upon arrival, got a surprised upgrade to the executive suite! Rena told us that it was because we were celebrating our honeymoon and the fact that we arrived on valentines day made it even more special. They gave us a bottle of wine for free... I was already speechless then.

2. After 2 days in the executive suite, we changed rooms to the original room we booked. The cave house (suite, 1 bedroom, jetted tub). It was nice, warm and cozy there. Only problem we had was the wifi coverage. You would need to step out of the main door to get it, probably because of the thick cave house walls, making it difficult for the signal to get in. Other than that, it was pretty awesome.

3. We requested to shift back to the main reception area (there's 2 diff blocks, 1 at the reception, the other, about 1 minute walk away). Reason was that we needed the wifi 24/7 because we had an emergency. Rena and George agreed without any hesitation. We got a executive room, which was smaller but still cozy and comfy.

Breakfast was served at whatever time we requested, and it was always on time!

This is the highlight of my trip - we lost our passports and 900 euros on our 2nd day. Thanks to Rena and George, everything went well, we got our temporary passports and we are now back in our own country. What they did, was just too much for me to write it here. We really really really appreciate it and couldn't thank you two enough for what you did... !

to Rena/George - thank you. thank you for everything!! words cannot describe our appreciation towards the both of you....

Room Tip: I would recommend the area near the reception - which is the executive suite, junior suite and execu...

We stayed in Delifini in a cave villa for two nights. It was one of the highlights of any trip we've ever experienced. The team led by vibrant effervescent Rena were fantastic with attention to service detail above and beyond the call of duty. The room was fantastic with a jacuzzi on the balcony the piece de resistance.

Proximity to the attractions in Oia mean the location is ideal with restaurants and old fort to watch the perfect sunset.

We will be recommending Defini to all our friends and colleauges as we were blown away. Thanks Rena George and team.

We stayed in a cave house at Delfini for 3 nights in Aug. It was much larger than we anticipated, clean and comfortable. The staff cleaned our room every day. We had a nice terrace with an incredible caldera view. Breakfast was served at the terrace and this was one of the best parts of the hotel. The staff (Seema, Hercules, etc.) was very helpful during our stay; their restaurant and daily excursion recommendations were fantastic. The first day we arrived, we had told Seema we would love to watch the sunset, and she booked us a table at a cafe with the most amazing, unobstructed sunset views, even though this café was packed. Thank you so much again Seema! We will definitely stay at the Delfini again next time we visit Santorini. We highly recommend Delfini to anyone.

We had visited Oia and stayed in Delfini Suites between Dec 23 to 25. We really enjoyed our stay at Delfini as it was very quiet and almost desolate. The setting was beautiful with outstanding views. Sima, the Russian hostess, who seemed to be all in all, from managing the reception, to helping to get the luggage down, to cleaning the rooms and getting the breakfast in, was very helpful. She set us up with a cab driver, Nikos, to take us around. We could not have had a better, more helpful and kind guide. He presented us with a bunch of oranges from his garden, suggested an outstanding Crete bakery in Fira, and was very helpful. We have to thank Sima for this. The only issue with the place was a lack of a microwave. Given only two restaurants and one bakery are open in winter when we went, a microwave would have been perfect. Also a part of the steps down to the room ( very spacious, we stayed in the Cave House Suite for 3) were unpaved. Overall though, it was a very nice experience and we would surely go back. Sima does a wonderful job and perhaps she could do with some more help when there are guests in winter. Note that there is no room service, no intercom ( though Sima gives her cell number), the reception is a 8 min walk up the steps and the lack of open restaurants ( the closest one in a 10 min walk and the other open one another ten mins) a problem. But the sheer beauty of the place, and the helpful, positive attitude was great. A microwave and an intercom to call the reception would have been outstanding. We will surely be back

Our review is quite late, but we had to share our experience!

We picked Delfini based on TripAdvisor reviews and we're glad we did. We were confused at the start because we found two websites and they had Complex A and Complex B. It was hard to figure out what's what without seeing it. Now that we've been there and to help out future travelers here's our take on it:
- Complex A is the new style suites (i.e. hotel style rooms)
- Complex B is the old style cave houses
- The two spots are not next to each other, but pretty close
- Both have the same views of the caldera

We booked the Exclusive Room in Complex A for three nights for our honeymoon, however as we were departing on our high speed catamaran to Santorini we got an e-mail from Delfini saying that the air conditioning unit broke down in the room. They asked if it would be OK to stay in a cave house for one night and then to move to the Executive Suite for the other two nights at no extra charge and with the first night free for the inconvenience. We were definitely OK with this!!! :)

We booked a transfer through the hotel and once we arrived in Oia the staff greeted us and immediately carried our bags to our room. The staff was friendly and gave us good information and recommendations on restaurants and what to do while we were in Santorini.

It was a minor hassle to have to pack up our bags after one night but we loved that we could experience both the cave style room and get upgraded to the best suite they offer! In both cases our rooms were huge and clean. The breakfast was very good and delivered on time. We made use of the outdoor jacuzzi on the balcony with a bottle of local wine taking in the spectacular view. Simply amazing!

Thank you Delfini for a wonderful stay in Oia!

My husband and I spent 12 days at Delfini this November. It was very peaceful, relaxing and cosy. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, as it was off season, and it was perfect for us! If you prefer busier times, visit this hotel in summer. We would highly recommend it for its gorgeous views of caldera, especially when you get to enjoy them from a private hot tub on the balcony:) or at breakfast brought to you every morning. It is the best location in Santorini and Oia and felt like paradise! The staff provided genuinely warm and welcoming service, not just polite, but with personal touches. Our cave house was very clean, cosy, spacious and nicely decorated with some antiques. Communication with the hotel was excelllent from the start; we always got an immediate reply and advice on what was best for us. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The highlight of our stay was Sima, who runs the hotel. Very soon after the arrival you feel like you are visiting your best friend or relative. We admire her energy, positivity, and how caring she is with tourists. If I could put a rating of 6 on Tripadvisor, I would give it for staff and excellent service at Delfini. Thank you!
