Serene location, but near shops and the most surreal sunset you'll ever see. Go there with someone special bc it is a special place. Staff was attentive and polite. Would highly recommend for honeymooners or couples looking for a romantic getaway.

Resort is also nearby to shops and dining.

Me and my wife went to Canaves this past May..the hotel was simply amazing. We really cannot find anything negative.. I will not talk about the view since it will be amazing either way....!!! The food was delicious, the guys at the restaurant so quick , gentle and efficient and the girls at the reception simply amazing....Needless to say that we stayed in a recently renovated Junior Suite and it was worth every last euro (40 sqm for a room built litterally in the cliff ? One of the largest rooms we have stayed in Santorini and this is the 4th time we come..)

No spa in the hotel but all kinds of treatments are available in the privacy of your own room....We never left the suite in our 4 nights stay.....

My wife and I went to Santorini for part of our honeymoon and Canaves was one of two places we stayed (the other was Fanari Villas), because we wanted to experience them both based on their respective reputations, and both were wonderful places with their own styles. Canaves was excellent in every way - the staff was very helpful, it was centrally located in Oia, the views were beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and the grounds were were chic and elegant. I can't say enough positive about this place. The owner is virtually the stereotype of the elegant European gentleman and me and my wife felt welcome the entire time.

This is one of the famous cave hotels, so part of the rooms are formed into the rock and there are cool stone passageways off of the dining room you can walk through. The room in which we stayed had a downstairs sitting room and a separate upstairs bedroom, which was very cool. Within the context of a Santorini cave hotel, the grounds had more of a modernist than classical feel, although the furniture in the rooms was all very traditional European wooden furniture and cabinets. All of the rooms I could see opened up to a semi-private balcony with a table and chairs, which connected to a series of walkways overlooking the sea. So, when you walk out to leave your room you have the most wonderful sensation between the view of the water below, and the gleaming white of the building around you. I did not eat dinner there, but based on breakfast I am sure it would be outstanding.

We were upgraded to a honeymoon suite with an indoor-outdoor pool at the Canaves Oia Suites (not to be confused with the adjacent Canaves Oia Hotel--which is also very pretty). The room was gorgeous with spectacular views. Staff was very helpful as well. Hotel is also very convenient to the bus stop. Hotel has lots of stairs, so best to ask about room location when booking if this is problematic.
