Be very careful of this Hotel!

I booked three double rooms for two nights initially by telephone and then confirmed the reservation by e-mail. Firstly the rates are higher than anything shown in any of the guides but I accepted this.

The stay was to follow the weekend at the Le Mans 24 hour. Knowing the situation at many French hotels I asked if the restaurant would be open on Monday as is shown in the guides. "Yes, no problem" was the reply. I booked a table for 6 for 8pm each night and confirmed it by e-mail. We arrived, booked in and when we went down for dinner they simply informed us that they had no cook and we would have to eat elsewhere. This meant a drive of 10 miles to Bayeaux or 2 cabs at 40 Euro each way.

I can put up with the poor state of repair of the rooms but the service is dire. If you book, then expect to be dissappointed.

While our room could've used some renovation (uneven floors, cracked tiles, etc.), our stay was very nice. The food was excellent and certainly the highlight of the trip.

I called the hotel directly and reserved two double rooms and was quoted 120Euros with "Petit Dejuner Inclus" (Breakfast Included). This was completely in line with the price quoted on a couple web sites. I had checked their web site. The web site quotes their double rooms at 600-750 FF (92Euros-114Euros), and beakfast at 65FF (6.5 Euros). So, at their most expensive rate with the add on for the Breakfast for two would be 127 Euros.

We arrived and were pleased with the rooms and offered our credit cards in the typical sign in process. They said no problem we have your card number from when you made the reservation.

Two days later at checkout time. They rang us up for 320Euros 160Euros/Night!!! I balked and said that is not what you quoted. But the man simply said oh no c'est pas possible, ca n'existe pas (not possible that rate doesn't exist). I quickly realised why they didn't want to go through the typical "check in procedure" where both parties review the rate.

Recommendation... AVOID this place they will take you for a ride!
