“Quick hit for instant sunshine!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Just returned from 10 days at the Royal Decameron , Boa Vista Cape Verde, enjoyed every minute of it, the sun, beach, pool, food at restaurants and help yourself to wine, beer and soft drinks. A special mention to our Rep Danny a real credit to Thompsons,If you want a quick flight to some sun, and lets face it we need the sun when we live in Britain, and want a relaxing holiday with decent food and a beautiful beach, sea is very wild, be careful, but pools are great, this is ideal. met some lovely people all very friendly which helped make a brilliant time.

Room Tip: get a seaview room, brilliant clean and spacious rooms

we spent 7 days in Royal Decameron recently. Transfer from airport took only 10 minutes. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Not really English speaking though. Check in smooth and quick. Rooms spacious and clean but basic. 2 a'la carte restaurants - Italian food very nice!!! Buffet food was tasty. I really enjoyed fresh juices - favorite one : cucumbers and watermelon mix. Animation team was excellent! From exercises sessions in main swimming pool and games on the beach to "show time" in the evening! Bravo!!! We went whales watching and it was amazing! Our rep Danny was very helpful. we could not imagine better relaxing stay.

answer: when it's a thompson all inclusive. not allowed seats next to each other unless £50 paid, no drink given with in-flight meal, no info given by rep at hotel, excursions twice the price of other operatives ( e.g. 40 euros to hire a car through cape verde experience and 80 euros through tompson!). on the plus side the resort was excellent, the food was great, the staff were attentive, friendly and professional.would love to go there again, unfortunately only thompson fly there at the moment.

Rooms: Clean but very basic need updating. No tea or coffee facilities in room, so definitely bring your own kettle etc. No iron or ironing board. Hotel will iron for a charge.
Pool Area: Excellent very clean, had to get up early for beds but plenty on the beach. Animation team are excellent around the pool always plenty to do.
Beach: One word AMAZING.
Restaurants: The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was delicious, plenty of choice. Only down fall the wine was very poor.
The staff at the hotel were the best I have ever seen, friendly, efficient nothing too much for them made my stay a pleasure.
Would I stay here again YES.

Thoroughly enjoyed two weeks at this hotel. Staff are so friendly, going out of their way to be polite and wish you a good day. Good choice of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoyed relaxing by the pool some days, didnt partake in any of the organised activities however enjoyed watching people doing aqua aerobics in the pool, zumba dancing and even yoga. Would recommend to friends.

We have just come back from a week at the Royal Decameron. Full marks to Thomson for giving an honest and clear description of the holiday, resort and hotel. It was exactly as it said on the tin, a beach holiday for those looking for a rest and peace and quiet.
Flights: on time and fine. Food poor but as it was only a 6 hour flight we could manage. Birmingham is such a great airport to travel from, efficient and easy.
Hotel: immaculately clean, staff very friendly always happy to help, rep, Danny great, pools perfect, sunbeds as usual went quite early but there were plenty available on the beach. Entertainment staff had so much energy.
Restaurant: amazing food, as two vegetarians we sometime struggle but not here, plenty of wonderful fruit, salads and hot choices, husband keen on puddings. Staff efficient at clearing and cleaning but seriously no hurry for anyone to rush as sometime can happen.
Guests: a great mix of nationalities, all seemed pleasant and polite. Met some lovely Brits, had plenty of laughs.
Rooms: again immaculately clean, everything seemed to be changed all the time. Huge comfortable bed, plenty of space for suitcases and clothes without tripping over them. Plenty of hot water in the shower.
Gym: perfectly adequate but do not expect high tech, better still bring your running gear and get out along the beach, you can go for as far as you want and it's very hard work!
Resort: not really a resort, just a massive beach, the sun is fierce but the wind makes is feel pleasant, a wander into Sal Rei is worth doing.
Would we go again? Most definitely, already considering it for another out of season break, a week is fine though.

Room Tip: A sea view room is definitely worth the little extra

Just home after a fantastic 11 days at this hotel, can not praise it enough. Staff always pleasant and work hard to make your stay enjoyable. Plenty of activities during the day in and around the pool area if you want to join in. Entertainment every evening. The breeze does make the temperature seem a lot cooler, so beware you will burn, defiantly pack a 30 factor lotion. Went on the 4x4 jeep trip, highly recommend you will see so much! Plenty of food choices. I would recommend going to boa vista before it is developed further
James our rep for just a few days was very knowledgeable, even went to do some chocolate shopping for us as the small shop on site Is very over priced, and left us a lovely anniversary gift.
