“Overpriced and a bit pretentious”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014

Stumbled across the place by accident and enjoyed a good meal but the fact that we didn't go back really says it all.

It's a bit like Jamie Olivers - overpriced, portions on the small size, over familiar staff and on the pretentious side.

“Overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

food was nice but very little of it and the most expensive meal we had while in boa vista at £70 for 2 courses and 2 beers , we thought very overrated.

“Great service and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

The island of Boa Vista is small, and at present, fairly undeveloped and as a result finding places to eat of real quality isnt easy. We went to Beramar on our second night and went back a further two times. Although unfortunately for us they werent open on one occasion!

The menu is small but that is fine as you can garuntee what you are eating is fresh and of unquestionable quality. The chef Ali is superb and the tuna carpacio to start was delightful.

If you are on the island this is a must,

“unexpected surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Me and my girlfriend had dinner at this lovely restaurant twice during our short stay in Boavista. The restaurant overlooks the sea and offers simple dishes, but at the same time garnished with surprising elegance and fantasy. Try the tuna dishes, the specialty of the house. A special thank you to the owners Ale & Julie who helped us also to discover this island, and cheered our evenings with long chats in front of the rum typical of Cape Verde. One day we will return.

“European, friendly, expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

I visited this resturaunt with my family, the other diners were couples dressed for a special evening out. We were welcomed and it was indeed a pleasure to be in the ambiance of a quality western restaurant overlooking the sea. The food we had was beautifully presented and well prepared but under seasoned. We found the food over-priced and the portions rather small - 4 chicken wings, onion rings (delicious) and french fries priced at £15, completely plain pasta for a small child charged at £5. My own dish again rather a small portion and underseasoned.
Admittedly I am used to eating out in London where there is a lot of competition and where waiting staff are highly trained. Not the same view of course!
