Drove over to Sabads a couple of weeks ago. We hadn't been there in a while although it is only a 35 minute drive. We were greeted warmly by the hostess/owner as we always are and seated in a booth which we prefer. We ordered a pre dinner cocktail and then ordered some calamari as an appetizer to split. We tend to order calamari in every restaurant we are dining just to compare the quality. This calamari was very good - but not great. It was tough which is a sign of overcooking.
We were served the usual relish tray (with a few changes from the last time we were there), garlic knots (not as good as the garlic bread) and cabbage noodles. Salads were fresh, crisp and generous. For my entree I ordered a rare prime rib and my husband ordered clams and linguine. The portions at Sabads are very large and almost impossible for folks on the elderly side (us) to comsume. My prime rib was tender, well seasoned and served as requested, rare. My husband's clams and linquine in a white sauce was generous in quantity with both pasta a clams. There were three fresh clams served along with the garlicy canned clams. He proclaimed them delicious.
We have frequented Sabads often, but seemed to try other places closer to home. We forgot how really good the food is there.
Dinner for two including drinks, tax and tip was $65.00.
