“WOW, what great service and people.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

The facility was very nice and the people were even nicer. Glad we stayed there. The rooms were very clean, the food was awesome and we had a great time in the pool. I travel the globe and there is no replacement for good workers. Paul and Alaina were great.

“Not as bad as I was prepared for but not great either”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

I stayed here while attending a conference in Niagara Falls (the Conference Center is about 5 minutes walking distance). The lobby and front desk staff were okay; they were efficient in getting me in to my room. The bedroom was also okay. While it wasn't without it's problems, it wasn't nearly as bad as some other reviewers made out. The flooring is laminate, not carpeting, which is different. I think it's probably easier to care for and clean verses carpeting which stains easily. However, some of the boards were peeling up. The toilet leaked tank must have been leaking b/c it would refill itself for a few seconds every so often. The heating in the room was more than adequate, albeit loud.

I was unfortunate enough to be staying here for one night during some teen hockey tournament. The kids ran up and down hallways, knocked on doors and randomly rang guest rooms for a few hours during the night. This didn't make for a restful sleep but luckily they were gone after the first night and my next two nights were without incident.

The little snack shop in the lobby never seemed to be open. Considering the dearth of coffee shops and convenience shops in the area around this hotel, it would have been nice to be able to get a cup of coffee to go in the morning without having to walk outside for ten minutes to the nearest (and open) shop (in the casino).

The location of the hotel is not bad. If you're on the upper floors, you can see the upper rapids and the Canadian side if your room is located on the right side of the building. You can walk to the top of the falls in about 5-10 minutes or to the Rainbow Bridge in 10-15 minutes. There are very few open restaurants around however, and the rest of Niagara Falls, NY is pretty desolate. The casino is closeby if you're in to that sort of thing - they do have a few restaurant choices. The Visitor's Center is a block away.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor, preferably one with a view of the river and Canada.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to leave us honest feedback on our hotel. We take all of our guest comments very seriously and our staff always does their best to provide comfortable accommodations. It is unfortunate that you experienced a noisy evening while the hockey tournament was in house. We do schedule extra security during the nights we have tournaments and we are able to control most of the chaos with no issues.
Our full service restaurant is open from 6:30am to 11:00am for breakfast, and again from 5:00pm to 10:00pm for dinner. Our café in the lobby is open between the hours of 11:00am-5:00pm.
I have forwarded the issues regarding the laminate flooring and toilet in your room to our chief engineer and General Manager. We hope you give us the opportunity of welcoming you back in the future and for us to show you how great our location truly is

“Extremely disappointed - stay elsewehre”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for a hockey tournament Nov 1-4. I was surprised at how dingy and dirty the lobby looked. Our room was adequate, however the beds are extremely uncomfortable. Since we were at a hockey tournament we were expecting an increase in the room charge and many kids running around, but what we weren't expecting was Holiday Inn's lack of control of the guests that were causing havoc throughout the hotel very late in the evening hours. I felt bad for anyone staying there that was not a part of the tournament. We were kept up until 2am with older kids running through the hallways banging on doors, calling rooms while their parents were in the common area partying. When I asked for a late check out the next (2hours) I was refused. We had to be up at 5am for a game and we were exhausted. I did not appreciate Holiday Inn's lack of compassion and do not believe they lived up the their quality guarantee. And Holiday Inn's motto of kids eating free apparently doesn't apply when there are a large number of kids staying at the hotel. If our team enters this tournament next year I will not be going if we get assigned the Holiday Inn as our hotel.

Room Tip: I would not stay here during a hockey tournament and be prepared for uncomfortable beds and no carpe...

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback on our hotel. We are genuinely concerned when we receive negative guest comments about our property.
We schedule additional security during hockey tournaments to patrol the hotel floors and common areas. We do our best to keep everybody contained and the noise level down.
It is Holiday Inn’s policy that the kids do not eat free if staying at a group rate. It is a clause that is apart of the IHG group bookings contract. Kids do not eat free with group rates because they are discounted.
Unfortunately, a late check out cannot be permitted to anyone in the tournament. Late check outs are based upon availability. If we allow one room to check out late, then it would only be fair to allow every room in the tournament to check out late. Our staff would not have adequate time to clean and prepare the rooms for 4:00pm check in.
Please be advised that your observations were forwarded to our Guest Service manager and General Manager. We hope you will offer us the opportunity of hosting you again at our hotel in the future and for us to show you how great our hotel truly is.

“Nice hotel, great restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but they are very comfy, the staff great, and the restaurant yummy. My Aussie friend was quite happy with everything, and it was his birthday! It was an easy walk to Goat Island, and the American side of the falls, so it was rather well situated. And we were lucky enough to have a room with a view! Thanks so much!
