“My Finest Stay Of My Five Other Very Fine Stays At This Very Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

The Holiday Inn in Niagara Falls, NY is a hotel that now features exceptional cuisine in its Peppertree Restaurant (see my review in the restaurant section), in addition to an outstanding Guest Services Team, Housekeeping Department, and Sales and Catering Staff as well.

My stay began today (7/14/12) and started extremely well. Room 702, a king bedded room with a view of the rapids was clean and ready just after 12 noon by Cheryl, an exceptional Housekeeper that has served me at this hotel from 2005-2009 during one stay each of those years. Victoria was a very fine Guest Services Agent that was both efficient and personable. Michelle Spaeth and Amy Rumbold were the Managers On Duty on my first day of my stay-both of them were not only most welcoming, but most appreciative of my repeat business here. Amy served me on my last October, 2009 here.

The Peppertree Restaurant was both innovative for a Holiday Inn, in that the food was prepared most imaginatively and the service provided by Kayla (Matt is the chef) was both very caring, thoughtful, and complete. One felt truly valued after dining here. The mushroom florentine soup, tilapia with lightly breaded topping (with rice and asparagus with red peppers) was very flavorful. Even the bread sticks were fresh and hot from the oven! The turtle cheesecake had caramel, fudge, and almonds-the perfect ending to a wonderful meal!

Am exceptional employee here is Amy Rumbold, the Front Desk Supervisor. Remembered me well from my last October, 2009 stay, Amy is one of the most personable, kind, efficient, and thoughtful Guest Services personnel one will ever encounter. Is the Manager On Duty this evening; has already replied to an email about my wonderful stay so far!

Sharon Hauser, the General Manager, Gayle Nowak, the Assistant General Manager, Terri MacDonald Gale, the Director Of Sales, and Michelle Spaeth, the Sales Assistant, are all part of an exceptionally run Management Team that truly care about the guests' needs. Sharon Hauser has been there for all of my stays from 2005-2009 as Personnel Director and Accounting Manager before becoming General Manager in the late 2008-2009 period. They are all a great pleasure to work with.

By the way, the newly furnished and renovated room had a brand new sofa, television set, armoire, and has a allergen proof hard wood floor that is easy to clean for the Housekeepers.
The property is well-maintained and exceptionally clean throughout. Cheryl, my Housekeeper, is exceptional.

The Holiday Inn Niagara Falls is a very well maintained property in a very good location. Its dependable and friendly service, reliable Housekeeping,, and a talented Sales/Catering staff, combined with a Peppertree Restaurant of excellence merits serious consideration for travelers looking for a fine experience, excellent location, and a talented staff and management.

A good overall choice for a wonderful stay! I promise you that you will be pleased with the service at the Holiday Inn Niagara Falls-I have never been disappointed after five previous stays here!

Room Tip: Seventh Floor rooms (i.e. 700,, 702-even numbers have a view of the Niagara Rapids.

“we like it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

This being our first visit to Niagara and being a last minute "Spring Break Fling" we decided not to make reservations in advance. We figured we would just find a nice location when we arrived. We got lucky at our first stop.

We were given a room on the top on the falls side of the building. It had a great view both day and night. It was a great deal and very clean. Our room had hard flooring versus carpet- I loved that idea.

The hotel also had a great pool, which the kids loved- watch the chlorine though very strong- took the color right out of my sons pants. A connected restaraunt was good and kids ate free with paying adult- menu was a bit limited and expensive. They also had a small lounge- which was also nice.

The only real down sides were that the room had very few electric sockets for charging cell phones and other gadgets and the game room had several video games that didn't work. The bathroom sink was also slow to drain but the shower was great and had no problems draining

“Worset experience ever!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

I come in to this hotel from Virginia, USA. family of 4.
First no direction to parking given. We had to figure out how to find parking and move n t hotel through a back door.
Checked n to room. Bathroom full of hair on e floor and bathtub. 3 big bugs crawling in bathroom and ne coacroach on the room ceiling. Nasty smell from bathroom. One of my kids almost vomited. I called front desk and asked for supervisor and the response I got was " oh they left for the day...No supervisor is here t help you" I asked the front desk person to come up tothe room to inspect. He could care less and kept saying oh The max I can do is Change the room. We could not make a same day other reservations so we had to stay in the second room.
Breakfast time was a disaster. I went to the " included" buffet but was told oh you need a voucher. I went back to front desk and asked for the voucher, I was told you should have received the voucher, so you don't have it.? And this went on and on for 5 minutes. Now breakfast buffet is only bacon or pancake. We ended up paying for a breakfast since we used the menu for different food choice.
Housekeeping: twice open on us the room door withou knocking. All we you get oh. Thought it wasa different room.
Door key stops working every time you lave your room. As if I wanted to see front desk staff every time I get back to my room.

Lobby area is so smelly that I literally threw up one time.

Please don't waste your money. The Area is full of highly rated hotels.

We have over 200 free parking spots available for our guests to make use of. A majority of the spots are located directly in front of the building within a very short walking distance. The rest of the parking spots wrap around to the side of our building, which would give you a 75ft walk to the front entrance, or you can make use of our side entrance.

Our team is dedicated to making our guest’s stay a memorable one. Housekeeping is available 24 hours a day to service the rooms and rectify any issues.

Our breakfast buffet includes unlimited bacon, sausage, eggs, skillet potatoes, fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, breakfast breads, danishes, pancakes, French toast, cereal, yogurt, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. On the weekends, our buffet also includes a manned omelet station in which you can make your own combinations to create as many omelets as you like. This extensive buffet is available complimentary when you book the breakfast package rate.

“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We stayed there over the 4th of July holiday and had a wonderful experience. The staff was so very friendly and gave top notch service, from the front desk person to the maids, it couldn't have been better service.

The furniture in the lounging area near the pool was a little tired looking but the pool area is larger than most.

Our room was quite large with two great queen beds and nice linens. A nice flat screen tv, easy chair, and desk. The bathroom was adequate and clean with nice bath products. I love the laminate floors in the hotel room because of my allergies.

There aren't a lot of restaurants in the area, other than Indian cuisine. We didn't try the hotel restaurant and wished we had.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The location is great and free parking which is hard to find there. I'm really surprised at the negative comments, but I do agree that the elevators and halls are not as cool as they could be.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

Loved this hotel - I am surprised to see all of the negative comments. Hotel was very clean, quiet, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Location was awesome! The only negative thing I can say is that the hallways and elevators did not have air conditioning. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor!
