“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

Hotel was in good location, we found the staff very helpful, not a luxury hotel, but also not expensive. We had the package, as we were 8 hours late missing first night meal, we had a lunch on day of leaving. Did not stay in hotel much so did not use any facilities

We stayed here a week! In that week, we had 6 fire alarms ( some in the same day). Sure, they are there for our safety but 6 times?? The front desk were very unapologetic. The rooms were not " top knotch" clean as they claim. No free coffee! Never heard such a thing! $2.50 for the same free small coffee you get at any other hotel for free. Restaurant food was just ok. Way over priced for not being much. Carpets dirty, walls dirty and I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy!

Safety is top priority for our guests, fortunately there were no emergencies and it is a rare instance that the fire alarms go off at our hotel.

Our hotel offers unlimited free coffee in the rooms, and prepared coffee for sale in the lobby area. We use the same coffee packets for our coffee for sale in the lobby that we provide for free in the guest rooms.

All of our guest rooms have hypo-allergenic wood flooring. In the common areas of our hotel, all of the carpets are new, replaced within the last year.

Checkin was a breeze, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

However, i'm slight disappointed in the rooms that i'm assigned to. When I first entered the room, the cigarette smell was overwhelming. And from what I understand my room is a non-smoking room. The front staff doesn't allow change of room and recommended the service staff to come in to spray some air freshner, which it does helps slightly in removing the odour in the room.

The breakfast is of decent spread, but definately not of high quality. The buffet area is dirty and messy.

As priority club member, I guess of the many holiday Inn hotels I have stayed, this is one of the most disappointing establishment that I have encountered.

The staff at this hotel are decent. The location is wonderful. What isn't so great is when you book through a third party booking company and end up in a smoking room when you have horrible allergies. We asked the front desk if there were any openings for a one night stay on another floor, but were told that the whole hotel was booked. The staff offered to put in a air purifier and spray deodorant. I took this option as there appeared to be no other available. We left the room for an hour, per hotel request, but when we returned the room still smelled awful. I developed a migraine and did not sleep at all that night.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't book on the smoking floor!

We work hard to accommodate all of our guests and make them comfortable. When booking a standard room, you forgo your option to choose the room type you prefer. If you do have specific preferences, such as smoking or non smoking, 2 double beds or 1 king, booking the room you prefer will guarantee you get the type of room you need. A standard room is any room that is available in the hotel.

I had the misfortune of staying here on 5/22 and 5/23/12 for work. A previous review mentions a strong smell of chlorine; I found it to be more of a smell of mildew. Another reviewer mentioned the flooring. It literally looks like the hotel room floors were contact papered. My floor had several bubbles. On 5/24 at 5:30am and at 6:30am the fire alarm went off and the hotel had to be evacuated. While I was on the elevator to check out later on 5/24, two staff members talked about how this was an ongoing issue that had happened at least three other times in the last week. Worse than the non-apologetic attitude of this hotel, is the idea that the valuable time of fire-fighters is being wasted.

Room Tip: Stay on the Canadian side of the falls.

as soon as you check in, the staff are extremely sweet. My room was 614 and it was perfect. My view was the falls view| Canadian border. 2 queen beds that are so soft that as soon as i rested my head, i fell asleep. Tv has cable which was a plus and the free wifi is very fast. The bathroom was nice size and the soaps were Bath & Body works... Who doesn't love bath and body works! As for the food, it was simply delish. I ordered the garlic bread with spinich and Honey BBQ Buffalo Wings. The buffalo wings were the best wings i had in my life. For breakfast had the garden skillet with 2 eggs over easy i recommend it. The swimming pool is big , jacuzzi can fit up to 5 - 6 people with tons of tables around for big families who want to eat and just hang out. The classical game room was nice but gym was a fail. needs more equipment.

Room Tip: Make sure you call the front desk after making your reservation and tell them you want the falls vie...
