“Good location, average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

This is an average hotel, nothing special, but it's conveniently located to the falls.
The room was big and bed very comfortable. Everything is clean but seem a little old, sometimes
cracked and chipped. The staff is friendly and helpful.
I'm not sorry for my choice - it's relatively good value for the money.

If you arrive to Niagara Falls by train - be aware of taxi drivers.
It takes only 5-7 min to get from the train station to the hotel, but they will drive you around for 15 min and charge you two times more then it really costs. I know it because when we just arrived we were told the price for the taxi ride and it took us about 15 min. We agreed with the same driver that he picks us up in 2 days - for the same price, sure. But on the way back to the station it took us about 5-7 min.

This is the first hotel I have ever walked out of. Filthy, reeking of some sort of chemical (disinfectant, perhaps?), and staffed with people who either don't know what their jobs should be, or are unwilling to do them.

Fortunately, I was able to shift to the Holiday Inn Grand Island, which is pleasant, clean and comfortable. And exactly the same price.

Room Tip: Find a different hotel.

It is our goal to consistently provide superior service and accommodations and your comments are very important. The feedback we receive from our valued guests help enable our staff to target problem areas and take the necessary actions to ensure similar situations are avoided. Fortunately for us we do not have many issues like this.

Cleanliness is our top priority and we have staff working continuously to ensure our facilities are top notch. All of our rooms and common areas are cleaned and maintained by our excellent, dedicated housekeeping staff.

We were in Niagara for a dance competition and this was the host hotel. pictures on line looked nice and the thought of newly renovated rooms pleased me however was extremely disappointed once we saw for ourselves. Wehn checking in you are overwhelmed with the smell of chlorine because the pool is right next too it (very small pool). When we got to our rooms I really liked the open clean feel the laminate floors gave but then when I walked further in to the room saw they must have used the cheapest laminate made - it was peeling at edges and there were huge grooves in it. The chair in the corner was marked and the wall was all scuffed. They tried to cover up the scratches in the furniture and door but it only made it look worse. The shower had some nice cracks.

The worst......someone had used our washroom!!!! Either housekeeping forgot to clean it or someone had been in to shower before our arrival. There was shampoo & body wash with a wet facecloth in the shower, an obviously refolded bathtowel and handtowel, and garbage (including empty toothpaste box) in the can.

The only reason I moved this up to three stars is the service we received from the front desk. They immediately sent housekeeping up to totally reclean our room and they were always curtious.

Not a great location but it you are looking for something close to the falls then it's good.

Recently renovated hotel. Room was bright and well cleaned.
Pergo floor in hotel room was unusual. Poor Installation this material left large seams showing.
However, this was not a big deal

Check in was quick, even without an advance reservation.
Room rate was very reasonable for the location which was in a great location.
Short drive to both Niagara Falls State Park ( 2 blocks) and the Rainbow bridge to Canada

Breakfast buffet was very good . Food was fresh

Had a good experience.

This hotel is offensive in three ways: 1) it offends the hotel industry by being called a hotel; 2) it offends the Intercontinental Group generally and the Holiday Inn in particular by affiliating its name to it; and 3) it offends the hospitality schools and ranking agencies by approving the staff working at it. The good things: 1) spacious rooms; 2) free parking; and 3) few minutes walk to the Falls. Now the real thing: 1) the staff makes you feel you are staying for free and not actually paying them to serve you. Help is something absolutely offends them. No bellman, no room service and when you are moving you bags down the alley, the houskeeperes won't move for you to pass. The hotel is utterly outdated and filthy. The rooms on first two floors are prices same as any other floor yet their windows are blocked as they overlook the service areas! They have a good GYM which no one bothers to tell you about. Next time I'm visiting the Falls, i prefer to camp rather than offending and mistreating my family by hosting them here.

Our Holiday Inn is a full service 3 star property. Having a bellman on staff is a requirement of 4 star properties and above. Room service is available daily from 6:30am- 11:00am for breakfast and from 5:00pm- 10:00pm for dinner. We do not have room service available during lunch hours, which is another reason why we are labeled a 3 star.

We have front desk and housekeeping staff that are always willing and available to help with baggage any time a guest would need assistance. When our restaurant is closed from 11:00am- 5:00pm, we have our café open. Guests have the option to order from a lighter menu in the café throughout the day when our restaurant is closed.

Our rooms and common areas have just been remodeled within the last 6 months.

The hotel was in poor shape. The room was ok, good view of the falls. My wife told me the hairdryer was inadequate. After a day of biking Niagara on the Lake we were looking forward to the hot tub at the hotel. The hot tub was TINY, maybe 4 people could fit in there, maybe. Not only was it tiny, the jets didnt work and it was lukewarm to say the least. Very disappointing. The hotel restaurant was not open for lunch and with limited food options in the area, this was also very disappointing.

Room Tip: ask for a view of the Falls

Our room was near the pool, so smelled of chlorine through our hallway, we complained, but they were booked to capacity and shut us down.

The lobby is attached to the pool area, so it smelled like chlorine as well..

Check in is at 4pm, which is odd

The Falls is not viewable from hotel windows, but a 10 minute walk will get you to a prime location next to the Falls.

Seneca Niagara Casino is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Plenty of free parking

Free Wifi

The bathroom was 3rd world style.. No tub, just a drain in the middle of the bathroom. Fairly disgusting and unexpected.. I will post pic..

The pool is over run by children for majority of the day. Pool is open 8 am to 11 pm. So I was able to swim comfortably after 10 pm.

The jacuzzi is a little one, so you will alternate with other guests.. first come, first serve.

The arcade was interesting.. old games ranging from 25 cents to 50 cents.. poorly maintained

32 inch HDTV in the room, HBO, ESPN.. every channel was HD etc.

Bed was very comfortable, plenty of pillows..

This is a family hotel.. meaning parents with small children.. not for couples unless you are not a romantic couple, then this is fine..

No breakfast included...

Conclusion: the bathroom was demented, but overall the hotel was pretty good for the night.. Check out took approximately 10 seconds.

Room Tip: The second floor is connected to the pool area, so you may want to avoid Floor 2 in order to avoid t...
