“Friendly staff and nothing much else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

The staff was quite friendly. Check in was OK although there were a lot of irate customers yelling at the check-in staff when we checked-in.

The room was musty and there was dust visibly flying around in the room.

As I said above, the staff was more than courteous with us and after we checked out, they even let us use the facility to change back into street clothes once we were done going to the falls for 3rd day in a row before heading back home.

Room Tip: Rooms get booked early. Book in advance

Stayed here 2 nights and the walls were paper thin. I travel alot and normally try to stay in Holiday Inns as their quality is pretty reliable. This was the noisiest hotel I have EVER stayed in. This hotel needs lots of updating as well.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over the Memorial Day weekend. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. We liked the wood laminate floors. The noise from the hallways was a little loud at times, particularly in the mornings as people head out and shut their doors. The indoor pool was decent, as was the game room. The restaurant left a little to be desired, as the breakfast buffet food was limited and mediocre at best. Your better off going down the street to Denny's or Starbucks. The hotel staff was friendly, but we did have a problem with a scam phone caller one morning who tried to get our credit card number. Somehow this person got into the hotel phone system, claimed to be the front desk, and requested a credit card number for incidentals because they forgot to get it at check-in. Thankfully we didn't fall for the scam, as I went down to the front desk instead to investigate the request. The front desk staff was scrambling to figure out how the caller got past their screening system to several rooms throughout the hotel. We weren't the only ones to get the call that morning. So just be warned not to ever give your credit card number over the phone to someone that calls you. Beyond that though, we had an enjoyable stay. Overall, the hotel is a great value and within close walking distance to the falls.

This hotel is showing it's age and needs to be updated. The location is great for the New York side, we stayed on the 7th floor (top) facing toward the falls which was nice.
We were told on the phone that we would get a free breakfast as a Priority club Platinum member, but was told when arrived that it was not included. The back cover of the hair dryer (plastic cover with holes) was missing, my wife had her hair slightly sucked into it. Noticed after the hairdryer heated up, the housing was also cracked. (if something is broken - fix it). The ceiling of the room showed where they had patched from water damage, the ice maker machine was about 10 feet from our door, and we could clearly hear it run, stuffed towels under the door to muffle. Shower curtain smelled like urine, since it is almost touching the toilet. I could hear someone in the bathroom in the next room, I think the sound goes easily through the venting system. As other people have noted, the carpets are stained, and some of the walls are dented and dirty. The decaf coffee pouch in our room had part of the top torn off. Looks like someone started opening it but then it was not replaced (sloppyness). We did have a simple breakfast at the hotel, the restaurant is also old and needs to be updated, the buffet looked regular, nothing special, there was dirt on the floor beside our table. Service was great and staff were friendly. Restaurant felt more family style then the more common nicer restaurants.
I used the wifi on the main level, worked fine, could not get wifi on the 7th floor. Used business computer, worked fine.

Room Tip: Ask for top floor (7th) facing the falls, lower #.

We booked after viewing hotel online and was a little nervous because pictures can be decieving however we couldnt of asked for better. Stayed in a smoking room (4 of us with 2 double beds) 2 of us smoked and 2 didnt and the room was as if it was a non smoking room. Loved the laminate flooring in room..all hotels should do away with carpeting and following in their footsteps! Comfortable beds..terrific front desk staff who were more than willing to give directions or answers questions. You could see the casino from hotel..probably a 5 minute walk if that. Large parking area..lobby was clean..the cost of staying divided 4 ways was only $27.00 per person! Where can you stay for that? And get the quality of our room and staff? I would highly recommend this hotel! Oh, and about a 5 minute drive to outlet mall!
