“It's a super expensive aweful motel! would never go back!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2011

I booked a 2 queen bed room for 4 people on Booking.com. Upon arrival I figured that the price was apparently for 2 people and got charged $40!! more for one night stay. Altogether it came down to ridiculous $220/night.
What did I get for this amount of money? - A stuffy, dirty, small room, clogged bathtub, no extra folding beds. It was a horrible experience, I would never go back again!

As others have stated, this Motel is very dated. However was quite clean & acceptable for the price and purpose of needing a place to sleep. The breakfast is also exactly as other have commented - just a couple of cut-up donuts & some stale coffee - but not to worry there is a Tim Hortons 2 mins away. The only big problem we had, which I have also read in these reviews has happened to others staying at this Motel. Upon arrival, they claimed to not have our prepaid, guaranteed reservation made through Hotwire. They did "conveniently" have a room for us though for the 2 nights we stayed, however, we had to pay 1/3 more that the Hotwire rate. Having not other options since it was Black Friday w/e & everything was sold out - we were forced to pay a second time for the same room. Will now have to work with Hotwire for a resolution. I believe they should loose the priviledge of selling off unsold inventory via Hotwire!

Had reservation for 8/10 for our son as he traveled back to University. We prepaid thru Priceline and when he arrived after 12 hrs of straight driving he was told they couldn't find his reservation and they had no rooms available. I called to hotel, gave them confirmation number and was told same thing. Low and behold our credit card is billed and they are telling Priceline that they had the confirmation and we were no show. Avoid both Priceline and this hotel, I've been assured I will hear something via email in 5 business days but at this point I am disputing charges with my bank. AVOID LIKE THE SWINE FLU!!

This motel is fine for the price. Our main requirement for a motel is that it is quiet and clean, which this one was. The managers went out of their way to be helpful. With only one story, we could park right in front of our room. The "continental breakfast" wasn't much, but there was a refrigerator in the room which we kept stocked with food the four days we were there. We were happy with our stay!

We stayed at the Moonlite Motel because we came into town and had no reservations and could not find any elsewhere. We knew we would not be spending much time in the room and wanted a clean place to shower and sleep. The room is small, one side of bed is up against the wall. Refrigerator worked great. A little worn around the edges. It was quiet and clean. Pool looked clean and had lots of flowers all around the motel and pool. Close to restaurants such as Denny's, Bob Evans, and a Target nearby. Takes about 5 minutes to get to falls. Breakfast is pastries and coffee, but what do you expect for the price? You can park right in front of your room and move your luggage in quickly. Owners were friendly. It was a good place to stay to save money. We spent 2 nights at a nicer hotel in Canada with a great view with the money we saved. Nothing fancy about it at all. And if you are going into Canada, be ready for high food prices and expensive hotels, although it is the nicer side.

As with several other reviewers, we were steered to the Moonlite by a lady at the NY Welcome Center on the freeway, who accurately described it as old but clean & cheap. The room was nicely sized and comfortable, if a bit dimly lighted. The owner, who lives on premises, was friendly and accomodating.
The neighborhood, like the motel, is old and a little scruffy but didn't appear in the least unsafe. There are several eating choices nearby. We took both day & night tours of Niagara Falls and the tours picked up & dropped off at the motel.
All in all, a reasonable choice if you want adequate but not fancy at a price to match.
