“Aero Car Ride”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2012

A long walk from the whitewater rafting point but well worth it. The ride across the top of the whirlpools was wonderful. Highly recommend

“A change from the falls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2012

It's a great park away from the crowds at the falls. Just follow the parkway to Whirlpool Park and take in the beauty of the gorge, Canada and the whirlpool. You get a great view of the Whirlpool Aero Car on the Canadian side.

“Hike or stroll, but definitely take pictures!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2012

Like it's sister park, The Devil's Hole, this park runs along the Niagara gorge on the American side of the Falls, towards Lake Ontario. Great for Hiking, picnicking and sightseeing. You can walk from one park to the other. Stroll along the trails on top with a camera or hike down the gorge on a stairway that connects the two parks. A must for a full trip to Niagara.

“A bit of a hike but worth the effort!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

Our older son told us about this hike. As my husband said," If anyone can find a hike with something special at the end, it would be him." We parked in the small lot and followed his directions downriver about .4 miles where we found a set of steep, stone stairs leading down to the river. These stairs are very uneven and broken up by dirt and rocky sections which switchback down the gorge wall. At the bottom of the gorge is a trail. If you continue downriver, it heads toward Devil's Hole State Park, another park along the Robert Moses Parkway and the Niagara River. We headed upriver toward the Whirlpool. Overhead we could see the Spanish Aerocar traveling over the Whirlpool. This trail provides a totally different perspective of the Gorge - from the bottom up - rather than the view from the top down that most visitors see. Our son told us that the trail gets rough and was he right!! A sign in the park lists the trail as difficult because of the stairs and several large sections where you are scrambling over rocks rather than walking on a typical trail. Part of the trail along the river is a loop. We took the lower trail on the way out and the upper trail on the way back. The upper trail was definitely easier, but the lower trail takes you right down along the river. The entire trail is well marked with orange blazes. Despite our sore muscles, our efforts were rewarded with great views of the Whirlpool, the Gorge, and the river which has several sets of awe-inspiring rapids along this section!!! Be sure to take water and your camera!!
