“Excellent boutique hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2010

Excellent hotel. Revamped an old building in an excellent place to stay. Close to the Falls and close to the Casino. Great location. The staff is amazing, willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Giacomo on Jan 15th. The stay was amazing and the accommodations were wonderful. Each room was individually decorated and designed so that no two visits are the same. The bed was so very comfortable and relaxing. And most importantly the staff was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and provided great service. Top notch all the way!!

The Giacomo was the perfect spot for our small group of 30. Not only are the rooms amazing and all different, but the meeting space that we used was very unique. Not your typical boring conference space. The staff went above and beyond in catering to our every need. I can't wait to stay here again!!

Everything about the Giacomo is world-class. The rooms are luxurious, the view of Niagara Falls is magnificent, and the staff will exceed your expectations. It was hard to say goodbye to the Giacomo. I most certainly will be back.

I surprised my wife with a night at The Giacomo Hotel. The hotel looked charming online but was even more exquisite in person! From the moment my wife and I arrived, the hotel staff catered to our every need. Free valet service at check in was a nice added touch and set in motion what would turn out to be an amazing stay . We were both taken back immediately by the alluring decor in the hotel lobby and once again blown away when we went to our room to not only find breathtaking views of Niagara Falls but also an elegant room. We found our stay/room to be extremely comfortable, inviting, fun and warm with all the amenities of home. The butler service was also a tremendous feature, helping to have roses and music awaiting our return from dinner! Needless to say our evening in Niagara Falls was spectacular thanks to The Giacomo Hotel and their accommodating staff.

I drove down the road to check out this brand new hotel and for a little R&R in Niagara Falls, NY. The lobby and the rooms of the Giacomo are beautiful! The hotel is located in a 1920s high-rise which has been totally overhauled. The employees were all nice and polite. Guests cannot access the gated parking lot across the street so they offer free valet parking instead. Breakfast is included and consisted of sausage, bacon, home fries, make your own toast, and eggs cooked to order in addition to coffee, tea and juice. At the time of this writing there were no gym facilities although this might change as they are still working on the building and it will be mixed-use apartments and hotel.

There were very few guests when we stayed: it was off-season and the hotel had just very recently opened. My one complaint was with the heating. We stayed during very wintry weather with temperatures well below freezing. We were given a corner room with 4 large windows plus 2 windows in the bathroom. This made the room particularly cold, that and the fact that there weren't many occupied rooms so no heat from other rooms drifted our way. After checking in to a cold room, we were told the heat was just turned on (from the front desk) and we headed out for dinner. When we returned, the room was still cold. Called down, they turned the heat on (again?) and it took about 2-3 hours to get comfortable. The heating unit was hung from the ceiling and blew air (warm & cold!) onto the bed below. Very uncomfortable situation even after the room finally warmed up.

To trap the warm air in the room, we kept the bathroom door closed. This made the bathroom FREEZING. (It had no independant heater.) In the morning, I ran the hot water in the shower to warm the bathroom - didn't work. I wore flip-flops in the shower since the tile floor was too cold to touch.

I give this hotel only an "Average" rating because of the unfortunate heat situation. In warm weather, I most likely would have given it a higher rating, but the discomfort of the cold air blowing down onto the bed and the freezing cold bathroom negatively affected my experience. If there were more guests heating up the place, and perhaps if we were not in a corner room, we may have found the hotel more comfortable and enjoyable.
