“Not just B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2010

We, including two kids, stayed at Master Suite for one night and had a great time over there. Probably because this was the second time to visit Niagara Falls, we were already pretty much satisfied just with this B&B even if we hadn't a chance to visit the falls at all. It was really great to see the interior and its decoration. The living room, the dining room and the sun room with the antique style furniture in the Georgian house inspired us with very stylish but traditional decorative sense. The breakfast was also delicious. It was served at the porch through the Master Suite room. I enjoyed it with the silver cutlery as seeing the river and the sounds of its splash to the fall. We could enjoy this breakfast even for our dinner!

Another thing I like to point out is that we were surprised that the owner husband is a Japanese. It would be good even for the people from Japan who cannot speak English well to have a great time over there with assistance from him.

Any lounges in a big hotel cannot beat the sun room where we really relaxed having homemade cranberry scones with a cup of coffee. Of course, the friendly service and hospitality were also so perfect not only for us also for our kids. They were served with one of the best brands of Japanese rice shipped from Japan.

We wish we could have stayed one more night. Hopefully, we will visit there again nearly soon.

Our stay at Hillcrest Inn was wonderful -- Cassidy and her family are perfect hosts -- always ready with suggestions of restaurants and helpful hints about sightseeing. (You really can walk to all the attractions in the area, which was a big plus for us.) Our room (and the entire inn) was immaculate and gorgeous and we were made to feel comfortable the minute we arrived. But perhaps most impressive of all were the breakfasts -- they were superb in variety, presentation and, of course, taste. I'm not easy to please, but I will definitely recommend the Hillcrest Inn to others ... and I certainly plan to be back.

Cassidy and her husband and beautiful little girl are just wonderful people. The house is gorgeous, beautifully decorated. It is only a short walk to the bridge to Goat Island and the American Falls. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was worthy of a top restaurant. When we arrived on a hot day we were offered cold bottled water and made to feel instantly at home. Cassidy gave us advice on what to see and do and also helped us to re-organise our travel for the next day. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved Niagara and we particularly loved this place. It was the last night of our holiday and was probably the best night. Our only regret - we didn't stay for 2 or 3 nights. Thereis a very nice restaurant within walking distance.

A long overdue review as my friend and I stayed in mid May 2010 but this allows me to say that this is the BEST B&B I've stayed in while on my month-long travel in the USA!

We stayed in the English room, which was very comfortable, spacious and very nicely furnished. Attached bathroom was clean and well equipped with all the necessities, though a little small but not cramped. There was a small TV & DVD player and a small selection of movies to watch. The rest of the B&B was also beautifully decorated and you are welcomed to lounge around the living room or the sun porch, where you can help yourself to some snacks and a cup of tea.

Cassidy was a brilliant hostess and she made us feel so welcomed - it felt like we were staying at a friend's place. Very knowledgeable too, as she was able to provide recommendations on attractions and places to eat and even offered to do a dinner reservation for us.

Special mention must be given to the breakfast - it was on a league of its own. Unlike the typical cooked or continental breakfasts you get at other inns, this is truly a gourmet meal, which you can enjoy at the dining area or in the sun porch. What they mention in their website, you will get a generous helping of it! Those with special dietary requirements, not to worry. When you check in, Cassidy will take note of your preference and arrange accordingly.

The location was also fantastic, as it is in a quiet and safe neighbourhood just a short 8min walk away from the Bridal Falls and maybe a further 10mins walk across the border to the Canadian side.. If you don't drive and are taking the bus from Buffalo Airport, the bus stop is at Rainbow Boulevard almost outside the inn, so it's really mighty convenient place to stay.

I am glad I didn't listen to the forums telling me to stay on the Canadian side, as I would have missed out on this little gem and a wonderful experience. Keep up the good work guys!

Being our first bed and breakfast experience, HIllcrest Inn delivered in just about every way imagineable. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, and the hostess, Cassidy, made sure we had everything we needed for our stay to be perfect. She was a wealth of knowledge for where to go and places to eat in the area and made herself available to help at any time without being pushy or asking too many questions.

We reserved the French Room with a King-sized bed for our one-night stay (you could choose between two twin beds or a king). My only disappointment is that the king-sized bed we ended up getting was actually the two twin beds pushed together against a king-sized headboard - misleading advertisement, in my opinion. The room itself was charming, though, complete with fresh flowers in the windowsills. I enjoyed the fact that we had our own bathroom, complete with bathtub/shower.

Breakfast was enjoyable with the other guests, especially because our hostess sparked the conversation with tidbits of fun facts about each of her guests when she served us the gourmet-style food. She is very accommodating to dietary needs and was able to serve me a breakfast I could enjoy.

All in all, this was a great place to stay. The rooms also have a small TV and DVD player, and there is a diverse selection of movies to watch. The sitting room and garden were lovely, although we didn't stay long enough to fully enjoy them. The location was within walking distance to everything we wanted, even the Rainbow Bridge to Canada.

The US side of the Falls is certainly the quieter side of the attraction, and personally the better for it.

The Hill Crest Inn is very convenient for all of the attractions, 10 minutes walk to the US Falls and 20 minutes walk to the Rainbow Bridge and the Canadian side.

The decoration of the Hill Crest is truly stunning, a blend of American with touches from the Far East bringing together the influences of the owners Cassidy and Matsui.

This includes the guest living and dining rooms through to the wonderfully individually decorated rooms.

We stayed in The Hillcrest Suite, the room was compact, but not overly so and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was stunning, beautifully coloured tiles, with a good sized bath by US standards and a great shower.

Cassidy is a wonderful and attentive host, from the help and advice of places to see and things to do through to the wonderful homemade pastries in the sun room with coffee before the excellent breakfast.

If you do not want to be in the heart of the Canadian side of the Falls, then you can not do any better than choosing the Hill Crest, for its convenient location, great accommodation and super host.

We stayed in this B&B in Niagara Falls without reading any reviews of the town, if we had read those reviews we would have missed one of the most wonderful experiences we have ever had in a B&B in the USA. Cassidy, Mitsu and Deborah are excellent hosts, the gourmet breakfasts that Cassidy provides each morning were the highlight of the stay, the rooms were very comfortable and homely, the B&B is within easy walking distance of all the attractions on the US side of the falls, on our first evening after arriving we walked around the attractions and across the rainbow bridge to Canada, before visiting the attractions in full the second day, It was good to be able to park the hire car outside this B&B, the town of Niagara Falls NY was a disappointment but the falls themselves are spectacular; be like us and disregard the town and experience a wonderful B&B in the Hillcrest Inn
