“Awesome as ever.....Bucket list view.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I was here as a kid 35 years ago, needless to say there has been some upgrades in the facilities. The Observation Tower gives a nice view from above as well as the elevator ride down for below view. You can choose to do alot more with your adventure her via boat or from above depending on your budget. We were here off season, so the crowds were small, and the help big!

“Beautiful and Amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Niagara Falls are one of America's must see attractions. The view is a bit better from the Canadian side though. That being said, it is still Niagara Falls from the American side, and is still striking! We went with friends, and did the Cave of the Winds tour. It was great, but keep your mouth shut. Drinking the Niagara River isn't on my bucket list.

“awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

I'd never been to the USA side of Niagara Falls and was quite impressed. the last time I'd been to the Canadian side was in 1971 and my impression of the american side wasn't very good. the leaves were beautiful this time of the year, and the walkway was very nice so we were able to see the falls from different angles.

“Remember your passport.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We visited both the NY side and the Canadian side of the falls and I must admit, Canada won on both counts - view and development. It is tastefully developed and self-sustaining (no government funds are used to maintain their side) which makes it palatable to pay for all their "attractions" that they have created. They are pouring the profits back into their side and it shows. New York appears to have given up. The view from the Canadian side is just better because you can see the entire Horseshoe Falls and you have a great view and better photo op of the American Falls. On the NY side, you are beside them both so it doesn't lend itself to the same pictiure of magnificence. Some people may prefer the nature of being in a state park without the commercialism (though it will cost you $10 to park), but you have to look at the commercialism on the Canadian side, so there is no way to experience the falls in a purely natural setting. And then some crazy developer was allowed to build the world's tackiest casino with the gaudiest neon lighting on the NY side. Every time the casino flashed a new sign (about every 3 seconds, 24 hours a day) all I could think of was how embarrassed I was by my own country. I give this a Very Good rating based SOLELY on the majestic beauty of the falls - not at all with what NY has done with it. The state of NY has a diamond in the rough that could bring in some major tourist dollars, but they have already blown it. If you only have time to experience one side, remember your passport and stick with the Canadian side.

“Niagara Falls”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Good, but not great from the American side. My priorities would be ...

1. BE SURE TO BRING YOUR PASSPORT! The view is much better from the Canadian vantage point. You are there to see the falls - get the most for your time, efforts and expenditure!

2. Note the season and plan accordingly. This is a great family attraction, but if you choose to go when schools are not in session, expect crowds and limited photo opportunities. Fall is wonderful, but consider the temperature ... you will be in misty conditions, cold & wet are not a great comfort combination!

3. Plan to see the rapids on the American side ... the mile plus immediately prior to the falls are amazingly fast! Imagine falling into the water ... it would be impossible to get out before going over the falls, which would not be fun!
