We stayed here , last weekend. Staff was OK, but just one staff person in the entire hotel. Here goes the list of things that need repair that we were aware of. In our room, which I will say was pretty clean. The Hot Tub cold faucet handle was broke off, 2 light bulbs were burnt out in room, NO refrigerator as advertised. Clerk said no manager was around , so she said get ice from the ice machine. Ice machine in Hall did not work , we finally found one in another part of hotel & got ice. Vending machines in our hall had been removed. Of the 3 windows in our room, facing the pool, one needed replacement, could not see through it, thermopane seal was broken & all steamed up.

Coffee by entrance, but no milk or creamer. We walked to nearby mini-mart and they gave up milk and said they knew the hotel was having problems. Elevator was in-operative and buttons removed and a lock was hanging on the 1st & 2nd floor doors. Handicap could not use 2 nd floor.

Pool was clean , but half the lights did not work, in pool area. From the outside of hotel, as we walked around, some rooms had ripped curtains. Very few guests in hotel, as we walked around conference rooms were wide open, we looked in, ripped curtains, no chairs or tables, A/C unit all apart with no cover on it. Sign outside said book holiday parties ???? !!!

Free breakfast was OK. Bar & lounge were all closed down. Only hotel by canal is why we stayed there & the Choice Hotels have always been very good for us. Hopefully this place will be upgraded or closed.

Room Tip: Try to find a different hotel, until this one gets remodeled.

I was not impressed with this property at all. I was on business in Canandaigua, and this unfortunately was the closest hotel I could find. The rooms are old and outdated. There is a general funk to the hotel, which seems to me to be mold or mildew combined with cigarette smoke. The halls are not air conditioned and the temperature must have been close to 100 degrees inside when I stayed. The staff did not turn on the AC in our room, and it took quite a while for the room to cool down, not a very nice way to treat guests. The breakfast/bar area was large, however it is dark and dank. This also seems to be a hotel where large tour buses loaded with people stay for the night. I was there for two nights and both mornings the breakfast area was jam packed with tour groups before 8AM. There were huge lines of people waiting for food. The staff was hardly able to keep of with the demand. There was a lot of chaos which did not make for a pleasant breakfast experience either day. I would definetly pick another hotel in the future and would not stay here again. The price was outrageous for the lack of quality and poor condition of the hotel.

The rooms were run down and on the dirty side, but not terrible. The staff was helpful. All the air conditioners vent into the pool area which made that area very hot and humid. They were accomodating to our large group. I am told they are renovating, but they apparently hadn't gotten to our room. The two lamps between the beds were missing shades. They did offer breakfast which was pretty decent. There was a creepy guy hanging around the front door and we weren't really sure why the staff didn't have him run off.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

the only reason we stayed there was a navigational mistake we made, and it became very late at our first day of travel. at the US. we wanted to stay at lyons but there were no hotels there...
the place literally stank (i can't even describe the smell), the room was outdated and the service bad! there was no breakfast as well.
the town itself is pretty spooky - if you can stay somewhere else please do!!

Reserved a non smoking room but upon arrival we entered our supposedly non smoking room to a room which stunk of SMOKE!!! i went back to desk and they defogged the room and was told that it would kill the smell. we went to watch the Newark Pilots game and figured when we returned 4 hours later the smell would disapate. but when we opened the door to our room the smell was even worse. tried to call other hotels in the area but all were booked solid. tried to sleep for the night but couldnt, we both ended up with sinus headaches due to the smoke. should have slept in the car!!!! would not recommend this dump to my worse enemy!!!!!!!!

This was by far the most expensive and worst Quality Inn of our extensive travel experience. We booked and paid the reservation through the 800 number, and upon arrival, we were told there was no reservation. Upon insistence, they finally came up with a room, if it could be called such. The tv didn't work. When we tried to use the shower, the plumbing fixtures came out of the wall, but alas, still no water....The "continental breakfast" was hash browns swimming in grease, unrecognizable eggs, sausage swimming in more grease, and cold cereal to your liking. Any accomodations for handicapped were ludicrous- there is no elevator to the second floor. The windows leak, the curtains are in shreds, and I didn't want to ask what the bedspread was last used for.
To be fair, the staff tried to be as accomodating as possible given their obvious constraints. Management is clearly aware that they have a captive audience as the only hotel in town. I too, say, get to any other town within 50 miles as soon as possible!!!

Room Tip: there are no good rooms- run far and fast!!!
